bruce seems so uptight and formal when d. stewart and bono come out. i mean, fucking give them a hug a re-fucking-lax b. this from a man with the balls to kiss a black man on the lips (the Great Clarence Clemons), which I truly admire, in the 80's, only twenty years removed from the civil rights movement. what happened bruce? loosen up.

Isn't this song originally from 10,000 Maniacs? I didn't realize bands could sing other bands' songs. I mean I've seen people reprise songs of great ones like Stand By Me, Unforgettable, etc. But "Because the Night"? I didn't think that 10,000 Maniacs qualify as "great ones". I guess I never made the connection since this song was sung in my time and not before.

Springsteen wrote this song back in the late 70 s although never released on a studio album always plays it in his live set. Patti Smith was in the next studio where Springsteen was recording heard this song and recorded it herself and had quite a bit of success with it
