When a boy or girl shows up with cuts and bruises here should be questions asked immediately and if the answers are not satifactory, as is sometimes the case, further delicate enquiries should be made. If the child begs you not to take the matter further the case should be referred with all pertinent infomation.

When a child is punished, the degree and kind of punishment is important and should be investigated by the appropriate authorities (for example Child Services). In the case of any kind of brutality, the matter should be put in the hands of the police and district attorney. That is the law in Canada and I would be surprised if Floridian law is any different. Report the matter. I never smacked my kids and they turned out brilliantly.
