  • Here's another way to look at it. ATI gives you the possibility to use up to 8 displays. But you will need 2 video cards with at least 1gb dedicated. And they need to be bridged. Nvidia you can use 3 Displays in 3D. And as far as I know all you need is 1 video card. And with just 1gb dedicated. It's your choice of which one to go with. Just trying to make it easier by telling everyone things that they may not have known.

  • I'm going to get a Sapphire HD6870, is it a good brand?

  • @DarkRaider08 Sapphire is the best brand for ATI/AMD BUT you if you want a cooler card , buy the msi twinfrozr one

  • kinda wish XFX was for Nvidia as well, EVGA is terrific, and i own a few of their branded parts, but XFX is great too. guess other than AMD and Nvidia those are the two competing

  • Comment removed

  • @sasktank ati are more advanced nividia cards are lacking right now

  • @pilotofdoom0 imo BFG Tech and PNY still sucks i agree

  • i have a man crush on rodney, and im not gay

  • AMD Asus System FTW!

  • HIS + ATi = FTW!

  • Sapphire + ATI = FTW!

  • So it has nothing to do with mobo brand? For example a msi video card will work on a gigabyte mobo?

  • whats the best and popular for Ati? HIS?

  • Hey 3DGAMEMAN. Just wanted to say that your new policy which is to turn comments off and move all of your videos to 3DGAMEMAN(,)com is very unfair. Remember, youtube has made you popular, and it was NOT your tiny tiny forum that you use to have somewhere in page 174 in Google search. So I think, you have made terrible and unfair decision by doing what you did and that you are not loyal to your subscribers anymore. Please people if you read this mark it as good comment if you fell same.

  • @arnaxsas its in the first page if you put in 3dgameman

  • Currently using a club3d nvidia :P

I live in europe, thats why.

  • I love your website! Looks nice.

  • the radeon 9600XT was my first sapphire card and im still using cards from sapphire!

at the moment its my Sapphire HD4870 1GB which i bought two years ago

  • Talking ATI cards, i've had mostly Xfx, and they are okay, but i just fell in love with Sapphire! It's so stupid, but i think i love them?:p

  • XFX no doubt!

    I currently have a 4870 XFX 1GB Gddr5 xxx version!

And it is overclocked till 850MHZ and is better than a regular 5850!

  • I pick up the one that has the least stuff in the box. The card itself; no driver cd's, games or stickers.

Would be even more awesome if I could have the original nVidia cooling too. Naturally the fan system has a large real estate to print company stickers so you probably cant have one that just says "nVidia".

  • I would have to say XFX and EVGA

  • XFX + ATI= Pwnage

  • I've been running my bfg 250's in sli. They do all I need them to. And Im very happy with the service and support.

  • Rodney is cool :)

  • @Justme1635438 are you kidding me? Rodney isn't cool, he's fucking AWESOME!

  • XFX, EVGA & BFG r the best on the planet

    ~XFX has a lifetime warranty

  • @ChiaKaCheng

Like your gonna need it. sigh...

  • You forgot build quality, usually the bargain versions of current video cards arent up the same standards that HIS or EVGA cards are put too

  • BFG is great.

  • Palit Bitchezzz

  • THE EMPTY THE BOX IS, THE CHEAPER THE VIDEO CARD IS.

    Ye...CAPS FTW

Do u still believe that games that come with a product are completely free? Huh.

Those fancy boxes, colors, wont help u get the max fps on the game.

Get the one that has more + on specs.

I have a gigabyte 285gtx (1 year ago)... damn ugly box. but i still play games at 1920x1200 with max details. Worth every penny.

  • XFX 5970 is just perfect

His 5870 is the second best card in my oppinion...

  • XFX, HIS or EVGA, ey but for everyone it is different. They only one i say you need to avoid is point of view, their video cards are most of the time just loose in a box with just a plastic back around them and nothing else.

  • xfx, his and saphire have never let me down

  • HIS

    EVGA

    wot do u think?

  • Great Q&A's, keep them coming :)

  • XFX owns all.

  • EvGa rocks

  • never buy the cheapest cards since they are really overpriced and so are the top-brands,You can still get a brand new nvidia 5200 card.. do you think this is priced right-not.Real cost should be in pence on that card performancewise -so dont even look at the cheapest-my advice

  • true..the only difference buying from different brands is their built quality and warranties..so buying a fairly good brand still gets its perks..but also read some reviews on the specific brand-model of watever u plan on buyin cuz sumtimes it makes a big diff..

  • i cant uplaod videos ! when i start the uplaod it finishesh INSTALNTLY !!! 100 MB ! youtube FTW

  • Yeah, Imo..EVGA has one of the best warranties and the best support out there. It would be sweet if they sold ATI cards.

  • never mentioned chipset of your motherboard......oh rodney

  • Well Asus for example have some extra software gadgets like GamerOSD and Smartdoctor but next time i´ll go for a XFX ^^ they are already overcolcked and have a better warranty^^......

  • Here's a better question :D depending on the board manufacturer, is it possible that some board components/chips/whatever are manufactured in low quality standards in China while others are manufactured properly somewhere else?

  • Some brands have slightly overclocked their GPU:s and some have bigger fans on their videocards. For example Sapphires Vapor-X have a 92mm fan and a vapor-x cooling system. It´s a huge difference from the standard version when it comes to cooling.

  • HIS for ATI cards! XFX, ASUS and EVGA for Nvidia ;) those are the best I think

  • thanks for such a great video!

  • one more q, 3DMAN..where can i view u'r current system coz i kinda like that u'r big LCD monitor

    thx

  • I reckon Gigabyte is the best. A lot of the time they make their own coolers that are better than the standard one for the card.

  • Thank you for the video 3DGM

  • I want my next card to be from EVGA. I heard they are awesome.

  • @zgarner2 You heard right young lad

  • 3DGAMEMAN, wat webcam do u use?

  • #38 - Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD Webcam Unboxing and Mini Review Video. There has recently been a driver and firmware update on this Webcam that allows 720p :)

  • 720p @ 30fps that is!

  • @3DGAMEMAN Nice webcam dude. Mine is very blurry and low FPS. Your videos are great by the way, keep it up! :D

  • Just to keep it simple, ATI (Owned by AMD) for those who may not know that.. Go ATI all the way, they are the fastest anything.. For Value or High End Performance.

  • Hi Rodney, I am on a tight budget but I want to get the best model GPU for the money. Do you foresee any problems when purchasing with a less reputable GPU carrier?

  • @fingerboy18 You should go with the newest ATI cards. You get a good price, and performance. Also, the ATI HD 5xxx series cards are more future-proof, because of newer technologies like DirectX 11.

  • Great vid, I went with XFX because of the double lifetime warranty.

  • Good info

  • EVGA has great costumer support. I recommend them to anybody. They answer tech questions you send them usually within 1 hour or less of you sending them. They also have descent warranty's.

  • @TheSloBoy EVGA has the best support and warranty of them all.

  • EVGA for NVIDIA GPU's and if I were to ever purchase an ATI video card then I would go with an XFX GPU.

  • xfx for nvidia, sapphire for ati

  • right on, you nailed it

  • XFX is awesome, but if ur going Nvidia EVGA is great too!

  • Look on Newegg. The brands with the most positive ratings are usually better. More research than that should be done before making the purchase however.

  • really great videos very nice and informative.

    greetings from spain

  • I like EVGA for Nvidia products. Good price and lifetime warranty!

  • Sapphire is a great brand, no problems with my 4890 so far

  • Generally XFX seems to be the best for nVidia cards.(just my opinion on what I want) but for budget cards I also like Galaxy and Gainward.

  • Great question!

  • i have an xfx and a bfg

  • eVGA, XFX, HIS, are acording to me the best with extra stuff and parts. But ofc you pay for it.

  • QUESTION:

is there any single gpu card that is better than the 5870?

  • 5970??

  • 5970 is single card, not single GPU. He is asking if there is a card with a single Graphics Processing Unit on the card that is technically faster than the 5870.

  • And the answer is no.

  • Yup!

  • I always buy stuff from EVGA only. and diamond if ati.

  • Nvidia = EVGA, Ati = XFX for the warranty or sapphire for overclock ability.

Also if u are comfortable with overclocking avoid factory overclocked cards, they are a waste of money. Back when they used to be hand picked and tested chips it was interesting now they are just the same thing with a different sticker.

  • so what company do you think is best? HIS?

  • I prefer EVGA (Nvidia) or XFX (ATi or Nvidia). Both are great priced. I have an Asus ATi card and I have unpleasant experiences with them.

  • thank you for this vid

  • t-shirt ;P i never get one of those!!

  • XFX all the way...oh yes ATI!!!!

  • not really

  • It was a joke... ;P

  • I like Asus brands for ati because you can easily pass that STUPID underclock voltage issue by downloading their awesome drivers...

  • Since building my new PC, I've been wishing EVGA would make ATI cards more and more...

  • I usually like EVGA and XFX just because they have great warranties on their products, and their bundles are also pretty good.

  • ah man Rodney dosent seem as chipper as usual :( great video anyway!! 5*'s

  • nice one for the info rodney its allways a help to me :-)

  • Loving the new design rodney

  • Which one has the best service and support? I want to buy peace of mind and I'm not knowledgeable enough to fix most things on my own.

  • Thank you Rodney, I'm at the moment seeking out offers for a new rig that i puzzled together,

It features an ATI radeon 5870 graphics card I suppose its alright, and as you said the choice is mine :) I'll just wait for the best deal since i requested a list from a lot of shops.

And again, thank you for all the help through the years.

  • don't some brands have more robust circuitry than others?

  • Nice VDO

  • Thanks. i new this anyway but wasnt acc sure.

  • i like youre informations

  • I think Sapphire is doing a great job at Video Cards.

  • NVIDIA GPUs are the real deal...

  • eVGA & Xfx baby ;)

    ---ONLY---

  • HIS and XFX for ati are the best!!

  • Well Asus for example have some extra software gadgets like GamerOSD and Smartdoctor but next time i´ll go for a XFX ^^ they are already overcolcked and have a better warranty^^......

  • I have a Zotac GeForce 9800Gt Eco

  • If someone on the street asks you the time, after telling them do you say "I hope this answers your question, and keep your questions coming"? haha :)

  • I have a Zotac 9800GT eco

  • hey rodney im buying a second 5870 and i cant decide should i go with sapphire or XFX what do you think which brand is more reliable and "better"?

  • @TheSloBoy Geforce what? that info is kinda useless

  • xfx ftw

  • incentives, incentives, incentives.

  • Well Asus for example have some extra software gadgets like GamerOSD and Smartdoctor but next time i´ll go for a XFX ^^ they are already overcolcked and have a better warranty^^......

  • Well Asus for example have some extra software gadgets like GamerOSD and Smartdoctor but next time i´ll go for a XFX ^^

  • XFX is the way to go! EVGA works.

  • RIP 3DFX

  • What brands do you recomend?

  • Most Gigabyte video cards are "Ultra Durable". They are cast with more copper than any other brand, so the impedance is much lower, and they are much stronger because they don't flex at all.

That means, when it's hanging in your PCI slot, it's not flexing and bending from being heated and cooled over and over again.

I wish more companies had Gigabyte's sense of quality.

  • MSI R5770 HAWK FTW!!!!!!

  • who doesn't like a free game

  • lol the best Im not biased

  • gainward is the best :p XD

  • Great question which I asked myself a few times ago. Now i know :-)

  • Sapphire FTW :) :)

  • Great video Rodney. Lot of people didnt know (not me) the diffrence between them. Thx again!

  • @hope00hope Well Asus for example have some extra software gadgets like GamerOSD and Smartdoctor but next time i´ll go for a XFX ^^ they are already overcolcked and have a better warranty^^......

  • Liar :p

  • Thanks for the info.

  • good vid. :)

  • yeah im having trouble loading some YT vids, keep up the good work Rod

  • @shaolindreams If the problem is loading (buffering), it's NOT the video card, it's your internet connection!

  • wrong! its youtube... how can it be my connection if some videos loads instantly and some dont. And whats video card got to do with it :s lol

  • @shaolindreams Yes, youtube is very buggy. My processor can not handle the h.264 compression, choppy playback. It really sucks.

  • damn man maybe you should upgrade your computer.

  • @shaolindreams But I don't know. When I download a Full HD movie, it plays back perfectly and smoothly. Only on Youtube, hd goes slowly. Maybe it's my internet connection. :I

  • @FRURMELLL theres 2 types of lag.. graphics and connection... does it buffer the video quick enough? or does is load the vid and still playback is jerky?

  • nice one

  • Man... YouTube is having lots of processing issues lately.

  • @3DGAMEMAN I know! It took me four tries to upload my last video. I noticed some days, Youtube will look completely different. Maybe they are just changing things.

  • It happened to me a few days ago and looked like s**t. Now it's back to normal which I am used to.

  • Off-Topic:

    are you a chef?

    talking before godem.

  • @ndsjfcniwehfcefverhu

    LOL. This guy is win.

  • @3DGAMEMAN pheew i thought it was just my internet crapping out

  • @FazeVIII

Or is it? Dun dun dunnnn

  • @3DGAMEMAN Yes I would say so.
