Festool is only the best to those that own one, Of coarse its not the best way to go for everyone I always look to the middle price range can't go wrong.
if i bought that, my boss would tell me i was dumb and that i wasted my money. he would say that i coulda went to harbor freight and got some slipshod jackleg setup that he made on his own. each to his own i guess, but i do love DeWalt!
well i bought it and been using it for a week now.
all i can say is that this is probably the best 400 euro ive ever spent on anything in my life. inital costs irked me a bit, but when you see what you get with the results its produces you'll be more than happy.
i know paying 400-500 to just cut a straight line is costly, but this tool should last for years and the results should keep you happy when joining cut materials. no mistakes, perfect cut = time and headache saving bliss. reccomended.
i researched this tool alot lately, and compared it to the festool ts55. ive looked at reviews, head to heads, videos and everything i can get my hands on.
the dewalt has the better features and is cheaper than the festool. the dewalt may be an imitation but it has evolved better than the ts55. it also has a better track, that can be used with other branded routers. the depth gauge also shows you the cut depth including the track, the festool does not do this.
I built three; 9.5’ 6’ and 4’ out of stainless steel. The edge is 1/32 from the cut line. Work well.

why buy either brand? get a circular saw and use a milled spirit level with a known surface finish. two tools, costs less

I hate to say it but, why buy an imitation when you can get the real deal with Festool. Festool has made the Saw & rail system since 1964.
