ya sorry for late answer but the reason its cartoony is cuz its based of the warcraft games ( where you have a birdseye view and control armies and the grahpics of those games were not that good so when they made WoW they said lets keep the graphics at a small lvl so it can seem like the warcraft games again, but your just one character in it. and they wanted ppl to be able to run it aswell. Actually, it's graphics that were originally inspired by warhammer - which is anything but a children's hobby (it's obscenely expensive and requires countless hours to set up). Also, if you fail to grasp that it's possible for a non-realistic art style to exist without aiming to 'please children', you're a fool. Look at South Park, Team Fortress 2, countless horrifically violent anime, and many more.

Lots of new MMORPGs fail spectacularly tho. Just think of Lord of the rings online. Who doesnt want to play along with frodo and Gandalf. but its not a big hit. and Star Wars failed totally. I think Conan with all its bugs and "wops.. we didnt think of that" has still done ok and has made a good game.

Altho.. some times you wonder how they managed to miss all those incredible bugs.

kosh, aoc is #3 in top 10, but its better than both. the top ten list is based on players. I talked to a blizzard member and hes pissed. wow alredy lost 550,000 players to aoc, and only bout 10,000 returned. 9,000 of them that returned was because they have no life, and like it that way. the other 10% is because they suck at it and are used to kick-back and watch combat styles and easy raids.

no, WoW sucks. Only people whop have never played another REAL MMO (particularly Everquest, the god of rpgs)think WoW is a great game. Its pathetic, and its developers are among the worst in the gaming business. no they did not fail. the only servers that are going dead are the pvp servers. people get tired of pvp after a wile. this was the failure of shadow bane. a good game, but completely forced pvp. not all gamers are in it for the kill. i am on dagoth, and it's pretty full most of the time, just like most of the pve servers. and as for the bugs, show me any game that launched with out one. it will all smooth out in time.

I did, and it does. But it doesn't suck because of "bugs." It sucks because funcom likes to charge people a fee to test their games, and then totally disregard their feedback.

That is the only reason it sucks. AoC has the *BEST* combat system, the best graphics, and the most potential of any currently played, or soon-to-be-played, MMO, ever. Funcom has been caught creating obvious time-sinks, in an attempt to delay the entire player base from realizing that there is no "real" endgame.

I would choose a class that suits your playstyle. I've seen a pretty good spread of classes on my server. Some classes aren't as good in PvP as others right now (DT, Demo, Ranger, and Assassin are some that are underpowered at 80)
