  • love the ghost-piano:)

  • Beautiful colors and scenes..

  • One of your best videos!!! It was a good tour of Japan culture

  • you have a good sense in art and i think you are a good photographer (y)

  • @otherside145 Thank you!

  • That was a very nice trip. I almost felt being there

  • at 3:52 Nina has the exact same smile as mama :)

  • mad goat!

  • @gembelobosok ha ha Yeah, I thought the goat was gonna trample Nina.

  • NICE VIDEO!!!, DON'T GIVE UP ON TEACHING NINA SOME ENGLISH!!!!, If possible you should move to America so that she studies her primary school or high school, it will be good for her as she will spend quality time with her grandparents in America!!!

  • cutie pie chows down!

  • I can understand Nina's being a bit wary of the goat. Once, on a family vacation we visited Busch Gardens. I was in a wheel chair after having broken my leg the day before we left. We entered the goat pen and first one little goat came up to me to inspect the chair i guess. Then another.......Then another......Then another. Soon I was completely surrounded by the herd. Even had one on it's hind legs trying to push the chair.

Love the vids and Nina and everyone in your family!

  • @auntbecky Yeah, goats can be pretty aggressive, in a playful way. I've had a couple shirts partially eaten by goats I wasn't paying attention to. ha ha

  • i like the photos you take! they are all beautiful.. are you a photographer? did you edit your photos?

can't stop watching videos of nina.

she is really cute and smart!

i'd like to meet her someday..

you have such a happy family.

  • @msjoojess Thank you! Photography is a hobby, and yes, I usually edit my photos somewhat.

  • i like the photos you take! they are all beautiful.. are you a photographer?

can't stop watching videos of nina.

she is really cute and smart!

i'd like to meet her someday..

you have such a happy family.

  • This was fun to watch!:) You take amazing photographs.

  • Awwww Nina is so cute <3 And i think you're so good in photography :D

  • @Way2414 I think Nina feels the same way you do, but hopefully when she starts studying English in school, she will realize the importance. Also, I want to take her on trips to the U.S. as much as possible so she will see how useful it is. I agree that if your listening is OK, then you can ask questions and be understood, so at least by having early listening experience, you and Nina have an advantage over other Japanese kids.

  • @Way2414 Like you as a child, Nina does not understand why learning English is so important. She will use English with me sometimes (to make me happy) but she doesn't really care about it. But, like you, she has heard English since she was born, so when she gets older and decides she wants to speak English better, it will be easier for her than for kids who did not hear it growing up.

I'm glad to hear that you are interested in English now, and use it with your father.

  • @Way2414 Yeah, Nina struggles with English a lot, too. Did you hear English much when you were growing up? Have you ever lived in America?

  • oh my god.. i just looooooooooveee your daughter!! adorable adorable adorable adorable!!! i hope she grows prettier and smarter each and every single day in her life.. :) i wanna have a daughter like yours!! ^0^ a happy lil family.. pls stay healthy.. :)

  • @DellaRazhes Thank you! I hope you have a lovely daughter (or son) of your own one day, too!

  • Now I know how's the face who recording it! haha

  • She's so adorable!!! I really love her.. ^^

  • It's so cute how she speaks Japanese and you respond in English. Wonderful daughter! Hehe.

  • you took amazing photos with mt fuji as the background!

i replayed the vid a few times at the part when nina was panting, while climbing the stairs with a tired face, haha.love how she was speechless when you asked how was it,LOL.and when you guys are walking to the car,and she said "uhh, isshoni ganbarou!" i was like, wow a kid is more optimistic than i am!haha

and she looked the cutest when she's with food<333

  • @meZATY Thanks! And, yeah, Nina is always pretty happy when she has food. She loves food.

  • She was so cute feeding the goat (bad goat chased after her XD ) my parents went to mt.fuji and my dad said that he wanted to climb mt.fuji (he likes climbing and being adventurous lol) but my mom said no so he was sad XDDD

I hope I can go to Mt. Fuji one day D: looks so totally awesome! :D

  • @NadiaEveStudio Tell your dad climbing Mt. Fuji is not as great as it might seem. For one thing it is really crowded, so you are usually walking in a long line of people. If you walk overnight and can see the sunrise on top, that's pretty spectacular, but often it is cloudy. Still, I can understand your dad's frustration. ha ha

  • That looks like a great trip. Was it expensive?

That shot of the waterfall with the rainbow was beautiful!

  • @Dark417 Thanks! The pension we stayed at was a bit expensive, but otherwise all the stuff we did was free or very cheap.

  • hahaha the goat is chasing NINA , LOL

  • 1 :57 she felt jelous from the rabbit lol :))

    Nina you are beautiful :*

  • wow that goat was scary when it ran after nina :/ eee! bad goat !! :p

  • @hotguylover619 ha ha Yeah, I thought it was gonna take Nina out at first.

  • man...you make me wanna be a dad so bad.

  • Even a little girl sounds *EPIC* when speaking Japanese.

  • Can you actually speak fluent Japanese? It seems like you and your wife have a system where she speaks Japanese and you speak English. I can see it works though from your more recent videos, her English is picking up very well :)

  • @danny10846 Yeah, I can converse in Japanese, but you're right, we've decided that I will just use English and Nina's mother will just use Japanese when we speak with Nina. It's not really enough for Nina's English to be fluent, but it's better than nothing. And, thanks!

  • wow your amaziiing your making good videos your taking wonderful photos and you have such a wonderful family and you live in japan you must be the luckiest man in the world :D

  • @NightdarkLP ha ha Well, living in Japan has its downsides, too, but yes, I do feel very lucky.

  • I love~ you're photographs they are so beautiful! And Nina is so cute~

  • great dad

  • she's gonna make a fierce math teacher~ hehe

  • you have a great family.....=p like your videos

  • very beautiful family :)

  • i'm so in love with japan right now <3

  • Oh she eats alot YUMMY!!!!

  • it is a really nice video n i guess u did took a lot of great pictures there......n by the way little nina is so cute!!!!

  • *smart*.. Nina is really smart!....-_- I forgot to put the word smart.. see how dense I am? lol

  • Wow, yer so handsome :o

and your voice is really soft and soothing. You can totally comfort someone with that voice. lol

and Nina is really! when i was her age, I was dumbfounded about everything lol.

  • @xXPandaTsubasaXx Thanks! The problem with my "soft voice" is it is hard to make it sound angry. When my junior high school students are being too crazy and I yell at them, they just smile and don't take me seriously! It's a problem!

And, thanks again! I don't know if Nina is particularly "smart" but she is socially skillful for her age, I think.

  • wow! so smart kid...

happy to see Nina's parents.. on some videos, Nina's mama looks like my mom.. and now i know they don't have the same eyes... hehe your child is so lovely..

  • the duck pictures! you're such a good photographer!

  • you have a very beautiful family. i wish i'll have a daughter like Nina! her cheeks are so fluffy!!!

  • Another great adventure! =^[.]^=

  • "4, da yo!" LOL, so cute!

  • The second photo of the waterfalls, the sepia toned one, took my breath away.

  • @NikiChan23 Thank you!

  • Beautiful family! ^__^

  • 犬や猫はいいけど子供はyoutube向けじゃないな

  • ニーナめっちゃちゃんかわいいですよね!!

    今どこに住んでるんですか?

  • Nina is such a cutie pie!

  • wew finally i see nina n her parents in one frame XD

  • @cietawinchester ha ha Yeah, most of our family vacation photos are like that, too. I always forget to ask someone to take a picture of us all together.

  • awww shes so cute!!

  • I learn so much from your family. Especially how you embrace each moment you have with Nina and your wife. Thank you for being such a great inspiration. :) All the best for your family. -gama

  • i love to see your long film :D

  • aw you are very handsome and Nina and your wife are very beautiful! Nina looked so cute with her pink hood <3 It looks like you guys had so much fun!

But I have been wondering, I know Nina is half Japanese but what is her other half (Scandinavian, British, etc.) from your side?

    Another great video!!

  • @imisstherainiedays I meant blood wise btw, not like where you are born (America, I am assuming) hahaha

  • @imisstherainiedays Thanks! *blushing*

You're right, I was born in America, and am a European mix. I have some French and German in me, and I'm not sure what all else. I should learn more about my heritage.

  • @geofg Haha no problem! I meant it =D

So we know that Nina is Japanese, French and German (along with other European mixes) That's awesome!

Next, she will take up learning French and German languages! lol just kidding. "Eat lettuce all day. Just lettuce." "Then, I won't grow big!" hahaha she's so smart.

Her cheeks are so cute and pudgy!!

  • i just love how she eats!!

most children her age are a real pain when eating

but she's really smart and cute

you have a really cute famillie !!!

  • Wow! she is so kawaii!

Mixed babies are very lucky to have contact with two languages at once! :)

I could learn some japanese from your videos! And had a lot of fun too ^^

I wish all the best for you all!!!

And i'm going to Japan next year! I wonder if I could meet you =D

  • @doctoralice Thanks! I agree that Nina is lucky to have exposure to two languages and cultures. My wife has made me promise to keep our private life separate from YouTube, so we probably can't meet you, but I hope you have a wonderful trip to Japan!

  • your family so cute!!! I love your vedio :) please keep working :D

  • nina is one lucky daughter! she's sooo adorable! hehe.. i'm sure you get this loads of time. but still, she would have the best memories as a child. not many are born with such blessings. please don't stop what you're doing! :)

  • @map0fproblematique Thank you! I do think Nina is a lucky kid, and we, of course, are very lucky to have her. We won't take our blessings for granted.

  • looked like a great family vacation!

    good photo's papa!

    ^_^

  • you've got a gorgeous wife AND daughter!! (such a pleasant child; does she ever throw tantrums? lol)

  • @lucidangel514 She DOES! Though she usually apologizes for them afterwards. ha ha

  • she looks soooo cute in the sled :)

  • When she is correcting your numbers she is SO cute ! FOUR DAYO! I love it XD

  • ha ha I think she will grow up to be a teacher.

  • actually, i think YOU should be a teacher...she is so smart for her age! obviously, you are very good at parenting nina, and in a very fresh modern way too...i think she will grow up to be very cultured and artistic!

  • Thanks! My wife and I don't really have any particular method of parenting, but just try to spend a lot of time with Nina, explain to her why we make the decisions we do, and listen to what she has to say. I don't feel like we "teach" her so much as just provide a safe, stimulating environment so she can teach herself what she wants to know.

  • aww ur daughters sooo cute but is she mixed? or full jap?

  • I'm American and my wife is Japanese, so yeah, she's mixed heritage.

  • The Asian gene is so strong. I am Spanish African and Japaneses and my son husband is black and my son still looks Asian. I call it Japanarican.

  • Ha ha, it's true! My blonde hair and blue eyes definitely lost out to the Asian gene.

  • :D Group is this? I love the jazz music! <3

  • OMG! I am in love with your dauther! she's soo smart and funny. You two are truely blessed to have Nina!

  • Thanks! We do feel very thankful to have little Nina in our lives!

  • Man u have a very beautiful wife and a daughter.... wish you have a long and happy marriage...

  • I really envy that you can take beautiful shots of mount Fuji. I do photography also, and those are great shots.

  • Thank you! I've been lucky with the weather the two times we've stayed near Mt. Fuji. Sometimes the sky clouds over and you can't get a shot at all, I've heard.

  • I accidentally found your videos on youtube and I'm loving them. Nina is a very clever, funny and cute girl. I really like how you put subtitles on them. It makes it easier to watch and understand. I wonder how Nina would feel as she watches these videos when she's older. Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you! I hope Nina will appreciate these vids when she's older.

  • Nina is arguably the cutest little poppet in the world! Beautiful eyes! You know that when she grows up, she's gonna be a heartbreaker! Lovely video here, keep on posting sir. Nina's reaction when feeding the goat was priceless too!

  • Thank you! I thought that goat was gonna get Nina at first, but in the end they became good friends.

  • 4:26 was so great.

  • i think that's not impossible to be in a relationship or married to a japanese,

i'm in a relationship with japanese too,and i love his family too much, they accept me eventhough i'm a gaikokujin,

and we hope we can marry someday, and have a nice family like yours, i see u like photography too,理想のパパですね〜^^

  • I agree with you. I think whether a marriage works well depends on how well the two people are matched to begin with, and how willing they are to change their habits to match each other. In other words, I think it takes work. But, I don't think it's necessarily harder for an international couple, just a different set of challenges.

  • your daughter is honto kawaii! ^_^... i, too, am amerasian and was born and raised in japan (saitama and kanagawa-ken). it was the happiest time of my childhood. unfortunately, i'm no longer as bilingual as i once was as a child. i speak japanese infrequently with my mom and relatives, and only on those rare trips back to tokyo with difficulty. i hope your awesome daughter never forgets the language, people and unique culture of japan. treasure these times with her. yoroshiku!

  • Hi Tom, Thanks for the message. I am always curious to hear about the experiences of other multi-racial people, looking for clues as to how best to raise Nina. I suspect we will continue to live in Japan for Nina's school years, so I am more worried about her English ability, wondering whether to send her to an international school etc. Until what age did you live in Japan? Are you trying to teach your son Japanese?

    I like your vids, BTW.

  • Oh, your daughter is amazing! And Nina is my favorite name!

    You're also funny!

I wish you lots of hapiness!

  • Thank you! Why is Nina your favorite name?

  • Because when I was little, I read those books about a girl wanting to become a ballerina, it was called 'Danse!' and the girl's name was Nina ^^

Since then I just adore this name.

  • oohh my gosh,, your daughter is so cute :D

  • Your family is so beutiful.. I always thought that to marry a japanese person was really difficult... because their cultures.. I know that it's hard for stranger to be accepted in Japan (even if they are nice people) seems really improbable to marry a japanese... but.. after watching your happy family.. .who knows.. maybe one day I will meet the boy of my dreams , and I will realize my dream to live in Japan and be happy and be accepted even if I'm not japanese. I adore Japan and their people.

  • Thank you! Why did you become so interested in Japan? Have you been here before?

There are difficulties in having an international marriage and living in Japan. I have seen international marriages among friends I know end up in divorce, but if both people are determined to make the marriage work and to accept each other's differences in culture etc, it can work. There are many nice things about an international marriage too, of course.

I hope you make it to Japan some day!

  • I don't know, is something I had since I was little... I always have a special admiration for Japanese's people and culture. I think and I feel that I can be that kind of person who can really have a open mind to embrace totally other cultures.. I always loves different cultures. Sometimes I feel really that this is not my place, I would like to start a new life in Japan. Who knows, maybe one day I'll find out why I born with this great love for Japan!

  • Very Nice Movie!

I thought Nina was gonna get taken out m=by that funny goat, Thank goodness she didn't.

  • Ha ha. Yeah, the goat freaked us out too, but it turned out to be a mellow goat after that first incident.

  • Such a nice family and a lovely daughter. Also a peaceful song, i love it

  • the photos and videos of nina are great and made me smile the whole way thru.. but i alughed out loud when you were chasing her toboggan :) it was a great video to watch! thank you for putting it together

  • Thanks! That was Nina's first time sledding so we had a great time.

  • Is Nina ur biological daughter?

  • Yes! You can't see any of me in her? Maybe in her eye shape or something?

  • yea, I actually can =)..she does kinda look like u in some ways (the eyes XD) it's just the fact u only speak English to her...I thought u were her step dad who recently moved to Japan or something ^^; lol, sorry, my mistaaaaaaaake

  • No worries. Sometimes when I'm walking around Japan with Nina people look at me suspiciously, like they think I might have kidnapped her or something. Ha ha.

I speak only English to her because I want her to learn English too, and I am her only exposure to English.

  • great shots!

  • Oh okay, well at least she knows/understand you :]. Im a Filipino/American but i was born in the Philippines, I came here at the age of 6 and I'm 19 now. I know it's far from having children but I've always wanted to keep the Filipino language going when i have family someday.

Thanks for the reply btw :P

  • Hey I'm Pinoy too lol!

  • you have a really cute and lovely family :]

i have a question though, was it hard to teach her japanese and english? kus i wanna do that someday when i have kids. i want them to be bilingual like i am :P

  • Thanks! Nina is not as bilingual as I'd like her to be. Her English listening is OK, but she's still not really that comfortable speaking in English. At home, I try to always talk to her in English, but I'm not sure it will be enough. How did you end up bilingual?

  • My goodness, i thought just for a second, that the goat was gonna ram her down from behind. Thank god she didn't get head-butted by a goat! That's would have been hurt. Lucky Nina! Your daughter are so precious.

  • Yes, the goat scared us, too! But, actually, he was a friendly goat.

  • Nina really made my day! She is so cute, you really have one lovely girl..

    :)

  • i screamed when the goat started rushing to nina.

    "Nooooooooooo... don't broke her cuteness."

Next thing i know my roommate rolled her eyes to me.

  • Ha ha ha ha! I was scared too!! It looked like the goat was going to head-butt Nina! Fortunately, it was just playing, I guess.

  • "Nooooooooooo... don't broke her cuteness."" HAHAHAHAHA That was the coolest thing I've read today xD

  • hi im came from the philippines im so glad to watch ur video

i wish we meet someday please add me in my email add to give a chance we talk i love ur kids...very much i have so kid but it is boy look my video santiago loy-a

  • Thanks for all you nice comments, Tasha! Have you been to Japan before?

  • Wonderful child and wonderful photos :D are you a professional?

  • Thank you! No, I'm not a professional. Ha ha. I just take a LOT of pictures.

  • ninaaaa..

she's a smart girl . you are very lucky.. GBU

  • Hi!! What a coincidence! While you were at my channel I were here, all warm and smiley by walking with your videos! Once again... your videos are so well done! YOu got such an eye to catch the moments and editing ! And the little chats you have with NinA are so based in love and respect and mutual admiration!

YOu can tell I am really happy to fin you and your family! BTW this is my private channel: batatakley . Got to go to keep whatching more of your videoS!

  • かわいくて、いい子ですね!

  • Dear geofg. I subscribed to your channel thanks to a friend. Nina is kawaisugi! I am your fans now! -nidya-

  • Hi, thanks for stopping by! I see you live in Japan. What do you do here?

  • Hey, I am a student doing my graduate degree in here. Nina is such a pretty girl. I am waiting for her updates :)

  • she's so pretty now~

she understands english but she answers japanese ne~ hehehe....

but it'll be easy for her when she goes to school

  • Thank you. And, I think you're right that she will start using English quickly if we can ger her into an English environment.

  • 大きくならないじゃん!

  • ohhh. makes me want to visit mt.fuji too. nina's sooo cute and the pics are fab. :)

  • Thank you! The Mt. Fuji area is great!

  • geofg, just wondering, do you always do post processing for your photos. The color is amazing.....

  • Thanks! I guess I do tend to do some post processing with most of my photos, but I try not to get too carried away.

  • Have you always talked to Nina in english ? She sure seems to like Japanese better though ^^

And you take amazing pictures *_*

  • Thanks for your comment on my pictures!

Yes, I try to talk to Nina mostly in English. The problem is we live in Japan, her mother speaks to her in Japanese, and all the other kids and teachers at her daycare use Japanese, and she knows I can understand her Japanese, so she just isn't very motivated to use English. For now, though, at least her English listening is OK.

  • I love these she's too cute!! I have to show this to my firends.

    je ne

  • Thanks! And thanks for subscribing!

  • ニーナちゃんすごい。日本語と英語の才能が増すと益々面白くなってる。英語の勘定に関して下手なお父さんを訂正できるまで。(笑)

  • Yeah, she corrects me all the time. Sometimes she'll use some suspicious sounding Japanese and I'll think I've caught her in a mistake, but my wife always confirms that she is actually just using a more sophisticated 言い方 than the ones I knew. I can still find mistakes in her English though.

  • i enjoyed watching your videos..cute little nina and shes so intelligent..

  • hello~~今日は同僚たちにNINAのビデオを紹介しました。

    やっぱりみんな超かわいいって言いましたね~

    この前、二-ナの写真アルバムを見たことがあるんですけど、同僚は見たいんですって,今なくなりましたか??

  • loved the picture of the goat.

lol i think you need to go back to school and learn numbers, sure you a teacher ???? haha

nina japanese very good.i have same problem with my daughter she understands both her languages but only responds in english.but being in a english speaking country, its hard cause she see's everyone else speaking english and not her second language.

mt fuji is beautiful, love your photography.you guys sure love to travel around japan

  • Hi Lauryn,

I know, it's really hard to get your child to use the second language when everyone around them uses the primary language. We just have to keep using the second language as much as we can around the house, and hope our girls will have a chance to use it more in the future. At least Maysa and Nina can understand us when we use the 2nd language. That's a good start!

  • I enjoy her facial expressions! She's so cute! She's a hearty eater, makes me hungry, yummy food! Seemed like you had lots of fun, happy for you all! I like the counting part, Keira stops me too when I do it wrong hahaah! Thanks for sharing! Mt. Fuji's so scenic and beautiful!

  • Yeah, Nina has always had a good appetite, and we've never had to worry about her eating enough. How'd Keira's appetite? Yeah, it's funny how upset they get when you mess with things like counting or the alphabet.

  • Yeah, I heard that not only Canada, but most of America is really cold right now. If you go up to Hokkaido, you might get temperatures like that in Japan, but on Honshu (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto)it doesn't usually get more than two or three degrees below zero at night unless you are in the mountains.

Good luck braving the Canada Winter!

  • Nina, is so smart!! Gosh, Bilingual already!

  • Thank you! Nina's listening is bilingual, but her English speaking still hasn't really kicked in yet. Can you speak Japanese?

  • I know a little, the basics, not much though.

Would love to learn the language one day.

  • You got some really good pictures out of that trip!

  • Thanks! It's a pretty great area for pictures. Mt. Fuji is the perfect volcano for pictures.

  • Thanks! It's a pretty good area for photography. Mt. Fuji is really photogenic.
