What a technique Rachmaninov possessed! I never heard this last movment played so electrifyingly or so fleetingly! Not even Horowitz, Argerich, Lisitsa, or Joselson are his equal. Bravissimo, Sergei!

he does repeat the last phrases more than is written by chopin yes...
its probably the most excitig and personal interpretation of this work. the superiority of his technique makes it possible....

no, i think he doesn't, but he does make a ritardando and a couple of pauses before the last two chords.
