This is such not a regular fridge in France, may be for one person and I think it is pretty small. Moreover we don't have time to shop everyday; we are also working! However it's probably true that we are cooking more fresh vegetables than in some other country...
This is not a regular fridge in France :), I have the same because I'm a student in a litlle studio. And no, we don't eat fresh everyday... I think the only way to discovered how we, french people really live, is to come in a french house and see/live.
@LouloucheetDelph as you say, this is your regular sized fridge, but personaly I've never saw a family in France with this type of fridge... there are always some exceptions.
@cantor0305 Have you even visited France? You cannot compare the south to the north, most people will agree the south is better, more sunshine, nicer people and way hotter women ,including those in their 30s and 40s.
@cantor0305 If I'm having two French girls for dinner at 7pm, both in their early 20's, what kind of food will really impress them? I want them to think "I had no idea Americans knew so much about food!"
What should I NOT serve?
Also, I live in a one-room apartment, and I furnish it with whatever I can. Are they going to be "turned-off" by a typical American "bachelor pad?"
If I serve red wine, does it have to be chilled or room temperature?
we sue don't eat fresh everyday and we do have bigger fridges... i had a small one like that when i lived alone. I guess the less hours part depends on your job
That is true, we love fresh market in france. Drink good wine and water not beer and soda, eat good food not junk food, have a good sex life, have a good general knowledge, this is the basis to be happy for most of the french women. Also people thinks good food mean fancy food, but most of the time our meals are very simple, and small amount of good quality produce rather than large quantity.

The south of France is the only place to be if your going to live in France, avoid the north, its miserable
oscie1 2 months ago
@oscie1 All depends...the richest town in france is in the extreme north(croix),and a southern town like marseille is a real garbage.

@oscie1 "avoid the north, its miserable" stupid cliché, that's why Nantes and Rennes was ""the most liveable city in Europe" ( Times ).

@cantor0305 I live in Rennes, you FAIL

@MondoBeno -chilled (down in the fridge, not in the freezer !) white wine with fish and shellfish, why not a muscadet
_room temperature red wine for meat, a cote du rohne, saumur champigny or chateauneuf du pape if you can afford ;)

@MondoBeno
For the wine, go for the Saint-Emilion. It's trustworthy ^^
What impresses is the effort you put in your meal. It can be anything but make it look nice!

@oscie1 J'ai vécu 16 ans dans le sud. Super pour les vacances... pour le reste vive le Nord (Paris compris !)

@cantor0305 "miserable", living in Nantes or Rennes is not really like in the condition or victor hufo novel.
