I may have found an answer!!! I know this doesn't solve everything, HOWEVER, it has come to my attention that CITI MASTERACARD PLATNIUM (at least Canadian one), has NO PAYPASS which has option to be removed (most companies won't allow you to remove it) but more importantly NO CHIP!!! (cannot confirm 100% but my friend's card does not have the RFID chip! There are options people! :)-

Speaking of RFID. You can buy the device that hacks those online. All you have to do is wave the wand in front of the purse containing or the wallet containing the RFID chip and you have that persons information and access to their accounts and what have ya. I can't remember what the wand thing is called though.

That's right we can vote against the banks by withdrawing all the cash. But would they really lose their power? Our local Commonwealth Bank of Australia, made only several billion dollars profit, so apparently cannot afford to reduce interest rates. As it seems to be doing just fine repossessing houses.

Spot on! I never agree to their identity theft solutions and added fees for other crap.I figure if someone is going to do it, it'll be easy to prove and just cancel the card.Why should I pay all these damn fees, be chipped,etc for a problem i don't have?They likely CREATE the problem so we flock to them like lost sheep.I'd rather cancel my accounts than be chipped.

Here in the Netherlands it's almost impossible to withdraw money without a chipcart or ID. There is already a chip in our ID carts (that we always must wear or risk a ticket for being a 'non-person') Do you know that in Rotterdam there is a luxury (try-out) dancebar and if you want to go there you have to have a implanted chip?! They even promote it on tv. They sell it to us as very handy. You don't have to carry your old wallets anymore. Imagine that! We don't have to wait for 2012.. BB is now!

a pair of hackers have recently demonstrated how human-implantable RFID chips from VeriChip can be easily cloned.

A standard RFID reader, scans the chip with a homebrew antenna connected to a laptop, which recorded the signal off the chip. He then used the same RFID reader to read the signal from his laptop, which promptly spat out the chips unique ID.
