@Peothra Awesome. you'd like it if you don't reading seeing the entire story from Tomoya's POV. It still has the (awesome japanese) voice acting and the music, just no tomoya voices, and the art is subpar compared to the anime. story is superior though

Also, I have noticed by your account that you are a Clannad Hater. That is fine, you can like or Dislike what you will. I get flack all the time because of my Dislike for Air Gear. However, I still try and remain respectful of those people whom like that anime.

I want to do MY best to recommend to people what I believe a quality anime is. Baser on story, art and voice acting. only a very few do all 3 well

Well take Evangelion, or if we talk about the classics, let's go a step further and pick Nadia (although the later has a major hole in the middle when it comes to quality). Take Rozen Maiden. Take Toei Animation's version of YuGiOh! Take anything made by master Miyazaki. Quality anime.

@BTIsaac we can agree that anything by Miyazaki is great. Haven't watched Rozen Maiden yet. Evangelion ...while I understood what the story teller was attempting at the end...it was a fail. Up to Episode 18 though...inspite of the constant whining...was very good. Nadia? Secret of the blue water? Meh... YuGioh...I can't judge. I have only seen the English Butchering. I am not into the card game deal though.

I said Toei's YuGiOh, not the NAS version. The series from '98. 80% less card games, three times as much suspense, and Ogata Megumi voicing the main character.

Opinions are not facts, which means your opinion isn't necessarily correct either. This is one of the more beloved animes, and while I'm sure a handful of you really do hate it, (My gf does, but only because it makes her cry :D) even people who hate this genre admit to loving Clannad.

k, k, here's how you pronounce the vowels in Japanese: a=aw, i=ee, u=oo, e=eh, o=oe (it's hard making English letters sound like Japanese ones xP) And no, I'm not Japanese, I just picked up pronouncing the names from watching animes. I think I'm doing pretty good with pronunciation, considering I never took any Japanese classes. Well, I did get some help from my friend, but not much.

it really depends on the writers and the voice actors

if you have someone mis-translate things and make the character ubber dopey yeah

and than if you pick the wrong cast... that also will cause a major fail

You have to realize Clannad comes with a pre-built fanbase, and doing all the routes is pretty much in their contract. They're for the non-Nagisa fans mostly.
