no but it's very similar to flamenco. Flamenco has a much more distinct sound. This style is more of a fusion of various techniques and flamenco certainly fused in it but I wouldn't go as far as calling it flamenco. The main similarity between flamenco and this style is the guitar tapping.

They didn'd make any record. They used to be called "Tierra Ácida"... I spoke with a frien of mine who was in a metal band named "Tierra Nitro" (yeah we have a lot of 'tierra' here in Mexico) and he told me that he knew 'em... Now Tierra Ácida has a different name.

It's really hard to be noticed if you have a rock band, but if you have a trash/metal band in mexico city?.. well, thats a lot more difficult!
