I went to this Hotel it is really nice The Entertainment is short but very good and the area where they do it is really the best i have seen so far in Punta Cana.

This hotel lacks a few things to make it perfect.

Outside club made of wood with levels and amazing lighting then used as aa resturant during the day and evening. Small T-shirt givaways to the crowed makes good advertizing when at home.

Some dangerous areas at mini snack bar your on a second level which you could step off.

Yes it was the dominican beach - the one at the end of the beach - total crap - i heard they renovated it but it was so bad that I would not go back. At punta cana you can find better than the barcelo... The one in mexico is excellent

Do not go to the other barcelo at punta cana the less than premium its pure crap I got sick and though i was going to die....

You must mean the Barcelo Dominican Beach...........Not sure about it, we have not been there but the Barcelo Punta Cana is an excellent place. We have also been to the Barcelo's in the Riviera Maya and they too are excelent places.

@d00de83 I went to the Grand Occidental Punta Cana and though i was going to die like you. I was really sick.. I will never eat shells again on vacation, i think they where the main reason i got sick.

@jessiranha ....It depends on what time of year you go. At this time of year there are few Americans and Canadians that Vacation in hot spots. If you were to hang out by the quiet pool I am sure it would have been just that. Sorry that you thought it was too loud, we love to hang out where the action is and that was the activity pool.

We stayed at the resort 10/07/14 to 10/14/09. Had an absolutely amazing time. Entertainment group guys are the best. Very friendly atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

PS Had some issues with room's water leak but we were accommodated into another room.

I was at this resort from 10/3/09-10/9/09 and it was wonderful. This resort is beautiful and the people are friendly. The beach is clean and there is so much to do or do nothing at all!!! I will be coming back next year!!!

We went there on our honeymoon it was AMAZING, we want to go back soooooooooooo bad, the food in the Italian rest. WAS SOOOO FRIGEN GOOD, all the desserts were awesome too. Ah I miss it :-( although the rock climbing wall was never open while we were there, but the trapese was super fun/scary :-D awe I miss it just from watching with video. The shows we alright.... beach was AWESOME, the whole place was so great.

yess AMAZING PLACEE!! i loved it.. i went there march of 09 with my fiance ... i recommend this to everyone its one of the best ones in Punta cana!! beach is beautifull clean yellow sand aqua blue water!! liek ina movie! also the service is great and their entertainment and the foood is always fresh! very romantic! im going back there for sure

I was at the Barcelo Punta Cana first week of April 2009. I would recommend it highly and would go back again. The food was fantastic at every a la carte restaurant. I like the Japanese restaurant but my favourite was the French one.

Keep an eye out for last minute deals to this resort too.

I just went in February (2009) OMG!!! it's totally amazing,..the people are so amazingly friendly, and the food is to die for,... i reccomend you make all your a la carte reservations mostly for the japanese restaurant,..it is by far the best,..but the seafood one is good too,...haha such amazing memories created at this amazing place,...upkeep could be better though i saw like 5 people with arms in slings because they slipped in the puddles that collect in the hallways,..they dont have casts!!!

I've been there to Barcelo 2 times and Im hopefully going back in march. at 2:17 that is Henry :) I miss him and all the trapeze guys so much. The staff makes you feel so welcome.I love EVERYTHING about this place & its so much better now that its under new management. I spent 3 hours every day on the trapeze.. its amazing. i get the chills thinking about it.the 2nd song this video plays is the one they play all the time @ the pool and the theatre@ night:)<33

Barcelo Punta Cana is the name. There are 2 levels of resorts in the Barcelo chain from what I know. Simple Barcelo and Barcelo Premium. If you visit Barcelo's Website it states what is what.
