  • I think you can be a good story teller

  • i shocked when he was throwing the stone at me xD

  • Nice dude...

  • ok that was hilarious. XD nice use also of using the arrows and such of normally not being able to see them to be inside of the animation. ^^ shows of you really adding the real aspect of you doing it and mixing it in with the character that doesn't know of what is happening. Great work in breaking that fourth wall! :D

  • 0:00 thumb up if u see

  • Would you ever be interested in making a music video? Also if you ever want some sound added I would love to do it (not just music, but full on foley)

  • does it has sound?

  • jjajajajajaja very well,it's fun

  • the arrow realy ruins the great animation (0:45)

  • This software is expensive

    nice :-)

  • Fail at 0:40 - 0:46

  • @Acrez9999 why is that a fail?

  • @Acrez9999 its not a fail but your comment is...

  • Why no new videos

  • what program did you use to make this?

  • @Wondercat707 3D Studio Max

  • @orion2001 not bad for an amateur but needs sound to enhance the video/animation

  • @orion2001 Nice animation :p

    Is 3DS Max free ?

  • @Noex18 Nah its only $3,500 /sarcasm

  • If you pause at 0:20 you'll see the scariest shit ever!

  • It costs mutch...

But if you want for 0$

Then Just Download Torrent ----- Search On Google -----

  • should have made camera crack lol

  • lol rock hit screen! nice vid

  • do you have the software? if you dont then theres a free program thats good for beginners called Anim8or.

  • Heh, thanks a lot. Actually he was based on Scrat from Ice Age and the Coyote from Roadrunner. I think that type of face helps make a very funny/expressive character.

Btw, nice job with your animations. Keep it up.

  • That's awesome :D i love it

  • Awesome! keep it up!

  • To be quite honest, any of the popular softwares will work well for someone getting into animation. I made this in 3D Max, but it could just have easily been made in Maya or even Blender. Just pick a software that you would like to work with long term. If you eventually want to get into game design I'd suggest 3d Max...if you're more interested in Special Effects or major character animation stuff and would like to pursue that, then Maya is the popular choice.

  • @orion2001 HAHA, i wanted to pursue old fashion 2D character animation so i re-discovered Macromedia Flash's animation power and ditched 3d completely (I'm an artist, and i started to feel like I was spending too much time and too many hours in front of a PC doing animation that I wasn't doing any physical drawing with my hands anymore....

  • Spend some time in English class - when you have mastered that come back to CGI.

  • i love the idea with the move manipulator and when he throws the rock at the camera, not only is it great animation and modelling skills but its rather funny :)

  • Thanks for the comments and compliments guys, I really appreciate it :). I'm trying to get back to animating again. Its been almost a year since I worked on these animations. I'm trying to learn Maya now as I've decided that I'd prefer to use Maya in the long term.

  • aren't maya and 3ds max kinda the same. i mean, like, the interface is kinda the same. same tools. same keyframing system. stuff like that.

  • Hi Tazy, They are similar but I think each has its strengths and weaknesses. For character animation work, Maya is usually the norm. Also it has a very neat particle effects/dynamics/muscle animations integrated into the software. It also seems to be the standard used by many animation houses.

3D Max has historically been more closely knit with the video game industry. At the end of the day though, any software will do more or less what you need (unless you are a very high end user).

  • Continued from below: I just wanted to learn Maya to see the differences and figure out which one I preferred.

  • oh. 3ds max is also good for characters and movies. and i've also seen maya used in some games.

  • Oh, I know it is and people do use it. However if you look at the statistics and the industry as a whole you will see a large percentage in gaming using 3d Max and a large percentage in film/animation using Maya. Just the way it is, and perhaps why Autodesk hasn't merged the 2 programs into one. In any case, I'm curious about Maya and I wanted to see what it has to offer. I definitely think that for most amateur/semipro 3d artists, both can produce the same results.

  • hey what up with the move manipulator? lol but nice though

  • lol... nice

  • Wow, amazing :D

  • you are f*cking awesome!!!!!!!

  • hey what program is that

  • 3ds max

  • coool :D

  • how long you need to render the animation?

  • It took about 2-3 Days at 640x480 resolution on my dual core laptop. However I split it into separate scenes so I didn't render it all in one go.

  • i hope you can make tutorial video about how to use 3d max..

  • Cool ;)

  • i lold when the moving tool came out xD

  • verry nice :D

  • hahahah thats celver

  • dude that rocks!

  • Pun intended? =)

  • No but that's actually quite funny :P

  • wow lot of time to work

  • Wow! Great Movie! I like the scene with the mouse throwing the stone into the camera.

How long does it take to make such a movie?

  • Thanks. It took around a day to make the environment (this is a simple one). I also spent many hours trying to get the correct procedural textures for the rocks/gold and the grass. The actual animation took around 2-3 weeks...but this was with a fully rigged character.

  • Do you reccomend this to other people trying to learn 3d animation??

  • Sure, its a great thing.

  • pay attention to your archs a little more. But nice key poses.

  • Thanks a lot. Yep, I got lazy with the archs...happens when you have a crazy unrealistic deadline for submitting the final animation =) Hopefully I will get the chance to revisit it and polish it up.

  • haha, very cute! nicely done! materials on the rocks look awesome!

  • WOW!! How in the world did you catch that? I didn't even realise I had that in my final animation. I remember having an issue with one of the nose vertices being pulled down during this animation sequence but I thought I had fixed it. I guess I didn't scrub the fault keyframe for the vertex on the last frame for that scene.

    Great catch!

  • Haha, I'm glad you liked it :)

  • Thanks a lot. Yes the materials took quite a bit of time to make. They are all procedural materials which I created by messing around a lot and using multiple layers.

  • Awesome idea, great execution.

  • cool

  • roflroflrofl.......good idea

  • great animation and rendering!

hey how you can get the realistic movements, when i animate a biped it move like a robot

do you have tutorials in general?

  • Awesome! Congratulations!

(Maybe it would be even better with a little music).

Anyway, texturing is fantastic (I loved the "lens effect").

    Nice work.

  • Thanks a lot. I agree about the music, I plan to do that when I get a little free time.

  • hehe thats awesome.... yeah diegetic sound is badly needed :D
