  • If you don't like the second gens then why bother looking them up on YouTube.

  • DON'T LIKE THE 70 Models, were built cheap and crappy

  • Respond to this video... love classic stuff like this =] long live my fav Chevy =D

  • the camaro was being developed since 1960. besides the design taking so long they also couldn't decide on a name. it was almost released as the panther but changed it to camaro at the last moment.

  • i'll pass im a first gen and 4th gen guy..........

  • Given that Mustang was the original pony car, I'll love my Camaro til I die =]

  • straightedge442 yeah but they dont have the classic look the challenger and camaro have.

  • @wamnintendo1 Yeah, that's why they look so much better. The new Camaro looks like a bulldozer, it's redeeming feature is the awesome engine, the new Challenger is too big and bulky, but the front end is amazing, and the new Mustang, to me, is an all-around masterpiece that every car enthusiast should enjoy. For every F-body year, I'd say the Camaro/Firebird was better looking than the respective Mustang.

  • NICE :)

  • "Because it's not how young you are, it's how old youre NOT."

  • I love all camaro but the 1993-2005

  • The '70-'73 Camaros are some of the best looking cars ever.

  • @straightedge442 I agree

  • its sad the camaro isnt the orignial pony car, its is just so beautiful, then the dodge charger/now challenger, the the ford. mustangs suck now, what they should do is remake the ford torino. thats an awsome car

  • @wamnintendo1 Actually, the Mustangs now are the best they've ever been.

  • Everything's orange! :(

  • No doubt, Mustangs were all the rage and **thee** first "young people's" car for about 3 or 4 years. But after Camaros appeared on the scene, they quickly eclipsed Mustangs as the sport car of choice for the young adult.

  • more glass, less chrome, more class

    haha

  • Needs a girl in hot pants.

  • it not how young u are its how old u arent

  • I liked the 70-1/2 Camaro better than the Firebird. The early 2nd gen was really the best of the lot and that includes the new 2010 Holden body. 1st gen was just a rushed into production rebodied Nova to compete with Mustang. 3rd and 4th gen were dopers cars.

  • SOLD! if only adverts these days were like that. instead we have barry scott shouting at us about dirt!

  • Damn my dad got one is 76. The first time I remember I fell in love with how it looked. He gifted it too me when I got 16 and now i drive it all the time. and damn is it ever a chick magnet! =D

  • old but still excellent ads!

  • I have never seen wheelcovers like these.

  • aside from the road noise and the growl of a v8. second gen camaros are some of the smoothest and most comfortable cars to drive (and have pretty decent handeling with the z suspension). breaks of course are a different story. Props for digging up this commercial.

  • I dislike this more glass less chrome shit... Hot rods from '50s rulz!!

  • "It's not about how young you are, it's how old you aren't."

Gee, to think I would have to look back to a 1970's car commercial to find some of the truest and wisest words ever spoken!

  • before did u order your cars or do you just go to the dealer and buy cuz all old school commercials talk bout ordering

  • It was all about options back than, but you could buy them from dealers.

  • back in the day, you went to the dealer and ordered the car you wanted, 2 weeks later they'd call you and say its in...thats why GM is in the hole now cuz they started to make 10,000 cars per selling only 5,000 see?

  • My guess is that the top end engine was special order only. They probably didn't sell many and didn't want them sitting around. Even today you'll find most cars in-stock on the lot are the same build.

My dad has told of when he special ordered a 427 w/ stick shift for a 67 Grand Marquis wagon. I think it's hilarious he did that, but a Ford-rep talked him out of it.

They had some crazy options back then, probably because they had to be available to be legal in stock car racing.

  • That guy is totally Gellin'

  • Magellin'.

  • Comment removed

  • Dig it man! Wonder if this ad was aired nationally, or just regionally, given the actor's East Coast accent.

  • It looks like the man in this commercial wears huggies!

  • LOL

  • hahahah fuck you ass hole. u proboly own a mustang and ur watching these vids wishing u had a camaro!!! fuck hole!

  • @Coolkid89383 The Mustang came out in 1964, three years before the Camaro. The mustang was the original pony car.

  • @Coolkid89383 I guess you are the "stupid dude" now "Kid". Perhaps check your history and facts before making inaccurate statements.

  • @Coolkid89383 As expected - a stupid, infantile comment back from the "Kid". Grow up little one.

  • @Coolkid89383 A "1970 AAR Cuda" Is easily 150X rarer :)

Camaros are the second most common muscle car to Mustangs from my experience.

  • @Coolkid89383 first of all mustang was the one where "People flocked in to buy them" Also camaros arent rare at all.

  • @Coolkid89383 Mustang copied Camero?? Despite that Mustang was first made in 1964, and Camero only appeared in 1967??? "FAIL".

  • my 02 houses a much better power train then the 70 but I put a fuel injected motor an now realise that its ll about that T56

  • dats a gorouse car son 70 Camaro a friend of mine had one sold it for a 2002 Camaros rock!!!!!!!!

  • Great ad great car! He didn't mention the 375 horse SS396, Chevrolet didn't want to advertise it.

  • this commercial is better than the modern ones it actually tells ALOT about the car

  • fdfsadfsadassaasfa

  • Not so.

    When you typed "fdfsadfsadassaasfa."

    You should have stated, "jhgjhgjhgjhgjh."

  • I believe you mean ghjhgkjhskdjhds

  • You both wrong - dhgdjdfjgdgfddhj

  • what happend to these types of commercials like this

  • more glass sounds dangerous.

  • if youre worried about danger than youre probly not a muscle car kinda person

  • That was a joke. I am a HUGE muscle car guy, and the f-bodies were great

  • ug-a-ly

camaro can do so much better.

  • The supa hugga. haha.

  • i've seen the inside of a jet cockpit and I wouldn't want my car to look like that.

  • Well with all this BAIL OUT talk going on, I just hope the 2010 Camaro comes out on time!!!

  • The 2010 Camaro isn't a Camaro at all. The car will be (or is slated to be, should it actaully appear) a front-wheel drive configuration.

    Ick.

  • Absolutely false. Of course it will be rwd. I wish you people would check your facts before you spout of at the mouth like morons

  • the new camaro is gonna rwd 6 speeds only 2 v8's both over 400 hp and a 305 hp v6

  • not

  • And now we have effin' hybrid Toyotas !! Boy, did we ever screw up !!!!!!!!

  • I owned a 1970 SS 350 munci 4 speed with a 12 bolt posi and 410 gears all from the factory. Lost my license with about 50+ points or so. They didnt have computers monitoring points back then.

  • beautiful car

  • wel it looks beter than all the ugly asian cars

  • Standard GM hubcaps.

The split -bumper models were much more handsome.

Too bad the DOT made GM add the big chunky bumpers in the mid 70's.

  • i totally agree,

after 69 the camaro was never the same

  • @Coolkid89383 290 hp is an understatement it was more like 365. back then they just said it was 290hp for insurance purposes.

  • That person and I have the exact same face, it's freaking me out. Does anybody know the spokespersons name? Seriously seriously, same face.

  • He's dead and you are his reincarnation.

  • For graduation from high school in 1970, my dad gave me the down payment for my 1970 Camaro. I ordered one from our local Chevy dealer in EL Paso. Took 12 long weeks to build and ship and was brought in on a train from Van Nuys, California. Wish I still had that car... Gold, with a spoiler, center console and such a magnet for girls. Ahhh those were the days.

  • That must've been the most exciting thing ever, finally getting that car.

  • I was about to turn 18 years old and every day, I rode my motorcycle down to the train yard (for weeks) and one day there it sat, unloaded behind a massive chain link fence. You simply can't imagine what a feeling that was. 11 moths later, I was off to Vietnam, sold the Camaro and have regretted it all these 38 years! Gawd, I miss that gold Camaro!

  • Wow - bittersweet to say the least. Whoever says material things don't matter just doesn't get it!

  • yeah

  • I'm an arthritic old man these days, but I'd gladly take the pain of getting into and out of a 70 Camaro again now that I'm about to turn 57. That 70 Camaro (to me) was at the time the most radical looking car to come out of Detroit in it's day. Still is a very classy looking car.

I'd die to show up at my 40th high school reunion in a 70 gold Camaro. What a hoot that would be.

  • Oh, and I have to say that waiting 12 WEEKS (for a guy 17 going on 18 WAS AN ETERNITY.) I was part of the "want it now" generation.

  • Yeah, the super hugger!!!

  • Chevy Camaro - An American Revolution!

  • first generation will always rule!

  • That was a suprisingly good commercial for the 70s

If you want to see a bad commercial search Untied DC-10 Commercial... Lol

  • Great car. I used to have a 1970 Camaro. Thanks for uploading this rare commercial.

  • WOHOOO!

    Love this car

Why isn't the host driving it?

Thats not the way to present a Camaro!

    Still, thanks for this video!

  • U just got to love the tie that he has LOL , great commercial !

  • Check out the shine on that hood! Sure wish you could buy them like that now...

  • i have a 73 ss my dad has had it over 20 years its been repainted 3 times and all of my sisters and mom have crashed it and i get it with a thousand problems a worn out motor, interior, primer paint and all most all the exterior panels need to be replaced(no rust in the floor or the trunk thank god)

BUT I WOULD NOT TRADE IT FOR ANY THING IM TAKING THIS BASTARD TO THE GRAVE WITH ME, AND I WIL CONQUER ANY MAKE AND MODEL DOMESTIC AND IMPORT FOR HOW EVER LONG I CAN STILL SMASH THE PEDLIE AND RACE.

  • Shut Up u Camaro loving son of a B

  • your just jealious cause you drive a ricer everyday and a drive a piece of american history, lamo get a real car, and quiet driving a little hotwheels.

  • lil problem with that is that the SS model was discarded after 1972...the most powerful type of camaro available in '73 was the Z28. So you either don't have a '73 or it's not a SS model. That being said, I own a 73 with a 350 in it and love it to death. Jus getting some facts out there.

  • well do you know about the strike in 72, that started in 72 and ended in 73 so chevy had to either spend millions of dollars to change the emissons control systems our tear them apart and start over our change them a little bit and sell them the way they were, so in a way you were wright they did start the LT in 73, but tecnical my car was made in 72 but sold 73 so yes my car is a 1973 SS Camaro, if you dont beleave me look it up. and i'am happy you love your car as so do I.

  • Yea I know bout it..if i remember correctly it was a 174 day strike. So then it's technically a 72 SS right?

  • technicaly yes but if you look on its title our body tag it was sold in 73 not 72, beleave it our not, no its a 73 SS.

  • Hi im looking to get a camaro but dont want the ones that had emission controls did they bring that in after the strike in 73 or 74?

  • no 71 has all the emissions stuff but you can remove them pretty easy.

  • 174 day strike rigth?

  • somthing like that. why?

  • i remember

  • REBUILD IT MAN. better than it was before, so u can smoke more ricers!!!

  • heck ya man that was my plan.

  • Yeah, just don't let the women drive it any more and you'll be fine. Seriously.

  • its not how young u are, its how old u arnt. haha. i gotta start using that expression.

  • ok what you guys think (by the way im only 14...) im eathere gana git a 68-69 or a 98-02 what you guys think?

  • i have a 1970 camaro metallic blue with white racing stripes. its pushin bout 400 horsepower. best camaro ever made is 1970. btw im 20 and i only got the car cuz my dad bought it for me and told me to fix it 4 years ago lol. its badass now.

  • I love my 73 RS LT Camaro 4 speed. Long live the road hugger!

  • i love the script "Camaro" emblem on the fender.

  • In 1975, this was replaced with block-lettering.

  • lol

  • I have this car!!!!!!!!!!

  • My grandma had a 77 Type LT Camaro, the last year they had chrome bumpers. I found out I was gonna get it but her husband wrecked it. She had it for twenty years, got it brand new and it wasn't even the car she was gonna buy.

  • My father bought a brand new 1970 Camaro from Jay Kline Chevrolet in Minneapolis. He gave it to me in 1998. I still have it. Needs to be restored but it is driveable; I wouldn't hesitate to take it around the world. Different engine and the transmission has been gone through twice but it's all Chevrolet.

  • it would actualy be a 70 1/2 because they didnt start till half way through the year....we looked at a 70 1/2 for me but we found a 81 in better shape

  • i got a 1979 camaro Z28

  • I don't care what anyone says, I have a suit just like that guy, and I wear it all the time. Of course, I lost all of my friends because of that, but you can't wear friends, now can you? My theory on nitrous, if your car is still on the bottle, its because it hasn't Manned up enough to go on raw power. Remember, those little juice bottles do go empty, then what? I liked the video. Ford used to have women, that was always better. Women, not necessarily Ford.

  • I HAVE A 70 CAMARO!!!!! HAHAHA! AND ITS ALLLLLLLLL MINE!!!! 383 stroker with a 6 speed transmission!!!!!!!!!! with nitrous too! Rally Sport. gotta love that split bumper!

  • that sounds cool I have a 1994 camaro. I want to superchagre it.

  • you are gay

  • lol I do my best

  • Yea it does

  • Old camaro is my dream

  • i totally agree

    i live in the UK

and we hardly have any old camaros over here :(

but I will make it happen, some how

  • camaro means camari that means pride so that car was and is a pride for those who have it.

  • hahaha, wow, thats like a review of the car, not a commercial, nowadays the yjust show u the car going around a corner, than get you witch a catch line ,ad nthe comericials over:P

  • The 1980 camaro commerical is better!

  • that shit is bad ass im going to get one next year

  • camaros are the shit. i've been looking for a 70-73 camaro for a couple of years now. can't wait till i get one. i've had 5 3rd gens. in fact i sold 3 this year and still own one. i will love the camaro till the day i die.

  • I love camaros and trucks goo chevy

  • I want one so bad.

  • PISS ON A FORD WHEN U GET THE CHANCE

  • The 1970 camaro was chevrolets best success. The 1970 camaro had improvments over the 1967-1969 camaros. The down fall was the gas crunch, smog, and the 5mph bumpers which all 3 came to play in 1974. Give the 1970- 1973 camaro 5 more years and they to will be untouchable, and maybe equal on desire as the 1969. Think I am full of shit look back to 1996 3k would get you a 1969 in socal. today a running 1970 camaro cost over 3-5k easy. with fine examples breaking over 25k.

  • What are you calling ugly? Looks way better than those spaceships they call cars nowadays. I love the OLD camaro's.

  • The 1970's Camaros were the best!

  • You just gotta love the way he tucks his hands in his beltline, don't ya? Sooooooooooo macho! lol

And you also gotta love that tie! I CAN DIG IT!!!

  • i fucking love every kind of camaro.

    soooo sexxxxxxxxy

  • nathan, I'm nathan too and I spun out in a 94 Z28... going strait. lol I like firebirds better as a 2nd gen but camaro def looked better 1st gen... in my opinion.

  • haha i fucking spun out in one of those mofos... DEFINITELY NOT A ROAD HUGGER... not to mention that GM fucked that one up... 1969 is the bEST

  • "super hugger"? wonder why that didn't stick

  • 1st Generation Camaro's 67-69 were definately the best looking.

  • Man, they made some real cars back in the day. Cars that were unique...hell you could tell them apart just by their taillights! Today, cars are generic; nothing to set one apart from the next. Just look at all the SUV's there are...tell me why one is different from the other! I sure miss The Day.

  • i dont like 2nd gen camaros. they looked really ugly.

  • The year Chevrolet fucked up the perfect design

  • tight

  • The last good Camaro was made in 1969. Everything since then is a bland, piece of crap, rustbucket. I know, I've owned them. Even the "New" concept car is a cheap imitation of a 69.

  • this is the best car from 67 to 2001

  • Cars do look better without tacky looking chrome.

  • After viewing this 60 second vintage 1970 auto commercial....all I can think/say is: "MACHISMO"!!

Dig that man's hair, clothes, and strut! lol

About the only thing he didn't say was..."What's your sign, baby? I'm a Capricorn, myself. You come here often?"

  • wow.... id say something but i think u owned yourself. it's 1970 damn it! u would expect them to be like that. probably more girls should have raced back then.
