  • I Think When Tracy McGrady Was In His Prime, He Played Like The IceMan Also!!! Who Agrees??

  • is there any coolest nickname than "the iceman" in the nba past and present.

  • @alexaadap Nope.

  • I remember the Iceman, a true gunner, he was a gunner even when he played 1 on 1

great combo the Iceman,Gilmore and Kenon

  • @natureboy1313 I remember him playing the Lakers in the very earily 80's; The Iceman was one of only 3 players that micheal cooper could'nt do anything about. As much as we rooted for the Lakers, everyone around me loved to see the Iceman shoot. I have to admit, he was the author fonzereli of the NBA court, cool as Ice.

  • @88maverick1 I totally forgot him lol. That's an obvious choice. He was a combo guard so I didn't know where to put him. But yeah, you're right

  • Gervin from the floor in his prime: 76 - 77 54% 77 - 78 53% 78 - 79 54% 79 - 80 52% 80 - 81 49% 81 - 82 50% Durrant from the floor: 07 - 08 43% 08 - 09 47% 09 - 10 47% 10 - 11 43% Durrant is more advanced??? Won't even bit at this discussion. Gervin by far is a more polished and smarter player. Durrant plays more like Reggie Lewis any how (silky slim style).
  • Perhaps the greatest player never to win an NBA championship.

    Baylor, Malone and Stockton.....................

  • @libertatus. I would say Charles Barkley. He could do some moves like "ICE" when he played for the Sixers with the exception of the finger-roll.

  • George Gervin, perhaps the coolest cat on the planet.

  • Kevin Durant???

There will never be another George Gervin. Not even close...

  • @Mookytc Actually, Durant is a more advanced version of Gervin. Durant actually has more range to his shoot and a better post game. And Gervin did not defend for the love of it.

  • @omnivorous65. Durant was a better dribbler and power.

  • @omnivorous65 I disagree. Gervin was just as good as long range shooter as Durant. Durant is not really that good of a perimeter shooter. Post game? What post game? Durant is soft, you see Gervin putting his body into defenders in this video? Durant is a better ball handler, but a little slower than Gervin. Durant isn't as good Gervin. Sorry man. He ain't. Durant is a good finisher near the hoop, but can't say better than Gervin. Kevin Durant mostly dribbles side-to-side then shoot.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr Durant is a better shoooter no doubt!

  • @procastoner8 no he ain't. He is a 36% percent shooter from the field. He shoots a high volume of shots. He is not a efficient scorer at all from the mid range, or long range area.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr He'll get better as he gets older. I know hes putting work during the off season. but its okay.. as long as my boy kobe is better than both of them hahaha

  • @procastoner8 Hahahaha Kobe better than Gervin? Who you buy that good kush from? Whatever you got I want. Haha

  • @Cooley96 so you think gervin is better than kobe? hahaha NON SENSE.

  • @procastoner8 Oh another on of you kobe lovers? I've never seen these moves out of kobe.

  • @Cooley96 serious? watch this watch?v=Q0OfOIDLsIo&

  • @procastoner8 Yeah they nice I aint gon lie, but seriously he's doing it on the clippers, raptors, jazz, suns. Iceman's mean more to me because he's pullin it on hardcore 80's players.

  • @Cooley96 ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!! wowwwwww you should watch more videos man...

  • @procastoner8 What videos?

  • @Cooley96 watch?v=ACmDi5InBF8 watch?v=gW2Ey1OXFnc& watch?v=KR62zBu5qfw&

PLUS I AM SURE THAT KOBE IS MORE CLUTCH THAN GERVIN

  • @procastoner8 Kobe definitely isn't more clutch then Gervin. My reason being I've never seen kobe actually play clutch. Everytime the game gets clutch with the lakers and kobe starts missing then all of a sudden the slightest touch on kobe is a foul and the game is decided by free throws.

  • @Cooley96 ARE YOU SERIOUS?!! watch?v=Us5QIvuahx4 , watch?v=lIAUycCR6QM, watch?v=bCAuoSR4800 , watch?v=BU91J6v19KE

thats not even EVERYTHING from early 2000's

  • @procastoner8 Hahaha. I tried to tell you. The first clip are games vs the rockets, kings, bobcats, miami heat, utah jazz, nets, memphis grizzlies, orlando magic, phoenix suns? Seriously? All around just utterly lame teams. George Gervin had his best play over 30 years ago so there aren't many clips of his greatest plays.

  • @Cooley96 ARR YOU SERIOUS? lame teams? wowwww i dont even wanna argue about it anymore.

even BASKETBALL ANALYST SAYS KOBE is somewhere in top 10 greatest players in history . George gervin is great but kobe is simply better

  • wow from 2:18 to 2:25

  • There will another Iceman coming soon. A different kind of Iceman. A much Tougher Iceman with different Qualities so don't even think about comparing the two . His jumper will be much more Superior than George Gervin . He'll be alot shorter/5'8' & tremendously faster than George Gervin . And may even jump just as high if not, higher!. His drive through the paint will be ridiculous !. Rebounds will be ridiculous as well as handles!. This will be a much more different kind of Iceman, TRUST ME.

  • Does anybody know the name of the song at 2:30? I've heard it in a rap song, but want to know where the original is from. Thanks.

  • Too High by Stevie Wonder

  • The original Kevin Durant.KD plays like a modern day Ice Man.

  • @blackricktheruler I can go with you on that. I used to say it was McGrady before the injuries.

  • I just seen so much film on KD and when i saw the Iceman's highlights i was shocked at how much they played alike.McGrady was another smooth, deadly scorer tho, good comparison.

  • @blackricktheruler but not as good.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr I don't know about that.

  • @blackricktheruler Never thought about it that way, but that's a darn good comparison.

  • @ryankxlu Thanks,i forgot all about this video,it's been 2 years.KD has won 2 scoring titles since i said that.I should be a scout,haha.

  • I think him, Earl Monroe, Sam Jones, Clyde Drexler, Jerry West, and Michael Jordan are among the greatest shooting guards

  • Other then Mike,Kobe got'em all beat.

  • i'm from rome,italy

i saw ice playing with bancoroma in 1987 called by roma's front office because of scott may 's injury i have his autograph and i remember his strange way to shot the free throw a couple of weeks ago i bought his action figure in canada

    what a player!!!!

  • Ice was Nice! My favorite player of all time.I got to take a picture with him in 1982 in SanDiego when the Clippers were there. He gave his autograph and we talked on the court during the early warm-ups.He thanked me for being in the Navy and I thanked him for all the enjoyable moments I got to watch him in the ABA and NBA.Yep I am that old.44 yea!

  • Four scoring titles with very high field-goal percentages, check-out these numbers:

    1977-78: 27.2 ppg on .536% shooting.

    1978-79: 26.6 ppg on .541% shooting.

    1979-80: 33.1 ppg on .528% shooting.

    1981-82: 32.3 ppg on .500% shooting.

Not only big scoring numbers, but very efficient shooting as well. I rank him behind Michael, Kobe, Jerry (West) & Clyde only. Ice is a true legend & all-time great.

  • Big Laker fan but oh how I loved watching Gervin play. He was absolutely a scoring machine. And his style was totally all his own.

  • "I can still play ... they just won't pay me!"

oh man! classic & classy - the iceman is a baller for all ages

  • seen him in person, my brother got his autograph

  • Iceman OG Mr Smooth !!!

  • 6 feet 8 120 pounds

  • He loves Manu too, for that finger roll.

  • ice was so damn smooth!..we had a kid in our neighborhood. who idolized gervin..

    certainly one of my favorites

  • he was incredible.
