It's taken over the freestar Station Wagon and this new Ranger is set this next year or two. I think this truck will be a success and for the Sport-Trac, that was a waste of money Ford has put in. According to some other blog I read, it looks like we may see this truck arriving in our U.S. Dealership. I've been waiting for a 4 door Ranger Pickup for 15 years and now I'm glad it's gonna be a reality. If Ford can put two cents to make sure the Ranger's better reliability is similar to Taurus and the Fuzion, I will start recommending Ford Trucks once again. My money will be saved up for a 4x4 5 Speed Manual Double Cab Version.
@gayasianmale ford trucks have the best reliability, quality, and overall everything else...and always have according to ever car review magazine and show..and the statistics/data to back it up, so i wouldnt worry about recommending it to someone anyway lol

i have a 2007 ranger 3.0 diesel and have given it a bit of stick off road and can honestly say that it doesnt lack power,it goes hard and drives well .the panels do dent easy but that just adds character, im really happy with it as are several guys i know who own them
its a pity the usa wont get this model ,and it is actually a re-badged mazda if anyone was wondering why it has an asian look,damn ford wont let us aussies design a kick ass 4wd for our local market .i reckon a 3.8 diesel with turbo and 6spd

Nah it'll be the ranger, the F-100 deal was a nice mix up but I do believe ford backed out of called the newer rangers the F-100. Think about it. The F-100 was a B/A truck and the Ranger was a package you could buy on an F-150. I dont think that Ford would do something like that to tarnish the F-100's name.
Actually the Ranger package was introduced in 67 or 68. It was a trim package for the F-100. There were Custom, Custom Cab, Camper Special, Explorer, Ranger, and Ranger XLT trim packages in the late 60's and on into the 70's.

But I'm still saying why would ford drop a light truck like the ranger to bring in a new model truck, if they were to do that just drop the ranger all together and keep the sport trac. Ford has all bases covered. Light pickups then the "Medium" pickup and then the F series trucks. No need to reintroduce the F-100 and still have 3 trucks when ford has 3 that cover efficientcy/capacity/hauling again in the ranger/sprt trac/F series.

those water splash scenes are bullshit. my mate had a repairable writeoff on his cause he hit a huge puddle at speed and the water went straight into the air box and hydro locked the engine.
the first truck, the grey one, doesnt look like a ranger, its more like an explorer sport trac. but i guess thats what the 09 ranger looks like, i dont think ive seen one yet.
My 99 is a bad ass off roader for a 2WD truck, but I'd trade it in a heart beat for a Comanche. Then again, it's only because when you turn the blinker on the windshield wipers come on, there's a miss fire somewhere and I haven't found it. It got new plugs, wires, coils, etc. Then there's the Speed Sensor cuts out at 75mph and that's the replacement. Most of these problems are native to 98-02 models.
you need to replace the blinker and windshield wiper switch.....thats what i did with my truck and it hasnt did that anymore.......its very simple. it took me 10 mins
i would give it a 9, it would have been a 10 if it wasn't so big. but if it comes here the down side is that it probably won't come with a diesel engine.
oh, I just firgured it out, the headlights have the look of the Tuncra and Tacoma aswell as that Nissan truck. I see similar features in the headlights of that truck aswell as the 2000-03 Maxima's lol
ford hasnt changed the ranger since about the 94 model year all they have done is changed the head lights and made the interior look a little different whitch isnt bad cuz i have a 99 ranger myself withch i love the only three tings id change on it is a bigger cab faster motor and it wold be nice for some tuffer truck styling.... and yes this truck does look like a city truck but i bet once and if it comes out it wont look as pretty.

They're trying to make it a cross between too many things rather than keep it original and like a truck. Seems like a big influence has also come from the F series and its a mix and mold of it. I own a 05 ranger and a 01 silverado in my opinion my ranger looks way better than this new probably 20-30 thousand dollar piece of shit. The only thing i do like about it is the hood other than that it looks like a yuppie truck that buisnessmen drive around pretending they haul shit.
I'd rather keep the current U.S. Truck, just improve the motor and axles. This truck would get 26mpg hwy and 20 City with the new 3.5L V6 Eco Boost. Add the 6 speed transmission, and options for front and rear lockers. And give it independent rear suspension just like the Sport Trac. Better ride, Better Performance, Better Economy, using existing Ford Parts.
The silver Ranger at the beginning looks too much like a Toyota Tacoma. The red one looks real nice, but kind of...soft. The face is too rounded. Doesn't have that tough truck look about it. I kinda like it though.

OMG. Why do they keep making automobiles bigger and bigger ? For Christ's sake even a Prius, one of the most fuel efficient cars in America weighs almost 3 tons. Losing dead weight = less materials to build the car in the first place, and better fuel economy. I do agree that some vehicles are getting Way too big, but remember, this is a ranger. No matter what they do to it, its still a small truck. Secondly, here they are just showing the crew cab, short box. They will have a reg, cab, long box like they have been before.
I doubt this will ever come to america. Ford of America and ford of euro are two seperate companies. The Ford Ranger is very populer over there, more populer than here. If Ford gave this to america I have no doubt the whole nation would fall back in love with it.
Actually, they ARE bringing this truck to North America (america as you put it). But they're not calling it the Ranger, they're going to call it the F100. Basically they're reviving the predecessor to the F150. It's really just an updated Ranger, but they want to call it the F100 to spark a "new" more appealing sales product.

Very simple fix for the ranger. Ok, keep it the same as it has been, actually, the 01-03 grill style is one of the most well liked.
Offer V8 and Desiel, 4 doors, more off road options, and seriously redo the INTERIOR...Its been the same since 93'...

you need to replace the blinker and windshield wiper switch.....thats what i did with my truck and it hasnt did that anymore.......its very simple. it took me 10 mins

oh, I just firgured it out, the headlights have the look of the Tuncra and Tacoma aswell as that Nissan truck. I see similar features in the headlights of that truck aswell as the 2000-03 Maxima's lol

ford hasnt changed the ranger since about the 94 model year all they have done is changed the head lights and made the interior look a little different whitch isnt bad cuz i have a 99 ranger myself withch i love the only three tings id change on it is a bigger cab faster motor and it wold be nice for some tuffer truck styling.... and yes this truck does look like a city truck but i bet once and if it comes out it wont look as pretty.

They're trying to make it a cross between too many things rather than keep it original and like a truck. Seems like a big influence has also come from the F series and its a mix and mold of it. I own a 05 ranger and a 01 silverado in my opinion my ranger looks way better than this new probably 20-30 thousand dollar piece of shit. The only thing i do like about it is the hood other than that it looks like a yuppie truck that buisnessmen drive around pretending they haul shit.

I'd rather keep the current U.S. Truck, just improve the motor and axles. This truck would get 26mpg hwy and 20 City with the new 3.5L V6 Eco Boost. Add the 6 speed transmission, and options for front and rear lockers. And give it independent rear suspension just like the Sport Trac. Better ride, Better Performance, Better Economy, using existing Ford Parts.

The silver Ranger at the beginning looks too much like a Toyota Tacoma. The red one looks real nice, but kind of...soft. The face is too rounded. Doesn't have that tough truck look about it. I kinda like it though.

further... basically what's happening to the Ranger now is what happened to the Tacoma in 2004 for the 2005 model. The success of the Tacoma has resulted in a decline of Ranger sales; thus Ford has decided to upgrade the Ranger as well to compete in the midsize pick-up market.

OMG. Why do they keep making automobiles bigger and bigger ? For Christ's sake even a Prius, one of the most fuel efficient cars in America weighs almost 3 tons. Losing dead weight = less materials to build the car in the first place, and better fuel economy. Seriously, the 2009 Ranger doesn't need to look any differently than it does now ... people need smaller trucks w/ bigger beds, not another SUV with a 3 foot truck bed in back like the Tacoma or Dodge Dakota ... Keep the Ranger a Ranger!

I do agree that some vehicles are getting Way too big, but remember, this is a ranger. No matter what they do to it, its still a small truck. Secondly, here they are just showing the crew cab, short box. They will have a reg, cab, long box like they have been before.

I doubt this will ever come to america. Ford of America and ford of euro are two seperate companies. The Ford Ranger is very populer over there, more populer than here. If Ford gave this to america I have no doubt the whole nation would fall back in love with it.

Actually, they ARE bringing this truck to North America (america as you put it). But they're not calling it the Ranger, they're going to call it the F100. Basically they're reviving the predecessor to the F150. It's really just an updated Ranger, but they want to call it the F100 to spark a "new" more appealing sales product.

The Mazda badged Ranger is in America as well. It's the B series Mazda truck.
Same truck as the ranger, different trim.
I'm happy for the sport trucks and 4X4 trucks but we need to make sure the base trucks (2wd/4cll) don't get get phased out.
Some people would still rather have a basic honest truck, not a statement of truck built on fluff.

I think they went a little import-ish with the design. I like the ford ranger but you gotta admit that its time for a change. It really hasn't changed over the past ...what..15 years or so? Maybe it should have bits and pieces of the new f-150.
