This song, Sixteen Candles, Step by Step, and What a Surprise my favorites. That soaring Soprano voice Johnny Had, made the songs Special. Glad I was a teenager then...
the crests, not dion and the belmonts, are the greatest doo wop group of all time.I'm sorry if the truth pissis off dion and the belmont fans. look I like them too.....but clearly the crests were tops.
OK all you "teeny-boppers"...dig out your transistor radio and hold it up to your ear...we can hear this tune and great stuff by Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Johnny Horton, Bobby Helms, Elvis (77 today!), Ricky, Brook, Dinah...Lord, please bring back music instead of noise...
@VeronicaWuChannel do you know american histroy? i doubt because there are two white boys singing with two blacks boys that it erases the years of tourture , rape, burning, lyching and black codes. the reason these two white boys most likely jews were in this group was because the manger a jew probably wanted to make it appear to the world that america isnt a racist place when it was and is. EVERYONE can see that it is only a matter if they openly say so or like you pretend they dont
@heckler171 speaking of racists why would you think the whites are jews. johnny maestro was of italien heritage. music softened a lot of the prejudices but even to this day they still exist. i hope some day we can all help each other live in peace. my mom adopted a my brother harold because his father abandoned him. i saw prejudice firsthand when he applied for work, education, housing. we need all of us to take a step back and take a breath and learn to live together
Fantastic song and words by the Crests! For those of us who actually believe in God and his angels this hit really goes to extraordinary heights (pun intended). Comforting to be reminded that prayers are actually heard even when we don't feel they are.
@VeronicaWuChannel the word RACIST was INVENTED by LIBERAL ASS kissing White sympathizers. Racist meaning Races believed in keeping their race pure Blacks believed in this Animals have more sense than People Rattlesankes don't mix with Copperheads both are Snakes!...Garter Snakes ditto. Cows don't mix with reindeers....Only people and Dogs/Cats.. go against nature.
Wonderful song that reached #22 in 1959. It was written by Billy Dawn Smith and Cathy Lynn. Smith wrote or co-wrote most of The Crests' hits on the COED label. Johnny's fans still love him so and are grateful for the legacy of music that he left us.
@suburbanblackchick my favorite singer of all time, I cried when Johnny died..he should be in the RocknRoll Hall of Fame..whats the matter with the music industry!
Love you Johnny and miss you. Love all of your songs.

I love the Crests but not this particular song. I think because its got a Nanny-nanny-boo-boo arrogant feel to it.
