  • Informational Video by REQUEST. I'd like to request you put a shirt on.

  • Are you filming thru a key hole.

And would it kill you to turn on a light.

  • @napolitano716 Well - since I was doing this as a response to a special request. I set the video up for several reasons, all that you NEED to you at you CAN see and me standng there in my underwear at about 6am.

If you can ont see what I'm discussing then perhaps it's not me that needs to have a light on.

  • @napolitano716 **PART 2** I chose to leave it public in the hopes that my instructional & detailed tech bits might be helpful to ANY other Rickenbacker Bass player/owner. I also believe I did mention the 4001 has long been discontinued by Rickenbacker in favor of the 4003.

No idea why Rickenbacker chose this, but they did. Things are different, but biggest is the neck. 4001 neck is thin & the 4003 is thick & not nearly as fast to play. Next most dramatic is the tone.

    I hope this helps.

  • you can even hear how much better the bass sounds than others even unplugged

  • man i love that bass man, what do you want for it?

  • Glad you like my bass, but no one has enough money to buy this bass from me. There are too many memories attached to it and it's never had any other owner than myself since I bought it back in 1978.

  • You rock, Neal! I am so glad that you are making videos...just don't mention where you live or someone might want to get all that cool equipment.

  • Thanks Val - I'll give it some thought - I have tons of stuff I'll never use again an can't sell. Perhaps I'll hide all the REALLY GOOD STUFF and leave out the stuff I WANT to go missing. It sure would make more room in what's left of my house... LOL

  • u shoul go over the crack with like white nail polish or somethin

  • @6ftUnder92592 Thanks for the suggestion, but I've not bothered to even attempt to make any further repairs since it is VERY solid now since the repairs I did make underneath and I think the obvious "battle scars" the bass has are all due to over 30 years of performing live.

I think it adds some "character". Maybe others don't see it that way as it is a true collectors instrument at this point in time, but I will never ever sell it. Those are just my feelings about how it looks to me.

  • Good Morning Neal lol...You explained that very well!

  • Good day to you too Jeani - Thanks I hope the FOCUS of this video is ALL that is being paid attention to. :-)

  • How can be more pleased???..God ....thank you man!!!

  • You're welcome. I'm glad it must have helped in some way and answered all your questions about my specific bass and the amps I use for the videos.
