@rawsynergytv I went raw 6 months ago I lost 40lb, I have more energy than ever! People tell me what Im doing is dangerous, when they are 300LB fat slobs that eat burger king everyday! We live in a brainwashed unhealthy society that thinks they know everything, and doctors and pharmaceutical companies want us fat and sick! Gluten and dairy is poison! Great Vid!
@biitersweettt I buy almost everything from the local farmers markets where everything is far less expensive than grocery stores or health food stores. It's not always certified but I try to buy from farmers I know do not use pesticide or chemical fertilizers. I also try to buy in bulk when I can. If you can't always buy organic, google "EWG dirty dozen foods" for the list of best and worst conventional foods to buy. For foods at the top of the worst list, try to buy organic. :0)
@StaceyNicolePaine If you don't need to lose weight and you eat enough calories for your size and activity level, you should maintain the perfect body weight following this lifestyle. In the beginning, some people might gain or lose a couple of lbs. due to finally getting nutrients they were seriously lacking, or detoxing and letting go of salt or impurities, but eventually the body balances itself and settles into the perfect weight.
@StaceyNicolePaine The absolute best source of calcium for humans is dark leafy green vegetables, as well as some fruits. They have the exact amount of calcium our bodies need in just the right proportions, that our bodies can assimilate perfectly. Healthy cows don't get calcium from milk, they get it from eating green grass all day. I just had my blood work done and my calcium levels were right on target, and I haven't had any dairy products in years. :0)
@rawsynergytv sweeeeet :) liking the sound of that, i want to change my diet cause i have very low energy all the time all i want to do is sleep, no harm in trying it out ;p
@StaceyNicolePaine I got really sick too, when I was vegetarian. Now, I realize I was completely uneducated about diet back then. I share my story about this in my Cocktail Grapefruit video, if you're interested. It helps to learn as much as possible and really get educated about this diet. Once you have a lot more information about it, it really starts to make sense.
Is it bad to eat asparagus boiled for 10 min. in low temperature?, i love asparagus but i dont know how to eat them other ways. Do you use spices and salt for your salads?
@carolacrapr There are far worse things you can eat than some steamed or boiled asparagus. Obviously eating them raw is best but steaming them isn't going to harm you. I don't use any salt in my food at all. When I want something salty, I eat celery, spinach, cucumbers or swiss chard. I don't use any spices but I do use herbs like cilantro, basil or dill in my salads. Chives are also fine to use. :0)
@DarlingKaya Not really...I actually spend less now than I did when I was eating cooked and processed food. There are lots of people who make this diet work on a budget. :0)
This is such an important appeal. Thank you for making it. (you look even more radiant than ever, if that is possible!). I didn't know about papayas being especially good for digestion and I am going to try them. I also didn't know about the movie; I am going to check that out too. I am 52 and like to think that it is never too late to start taking care of yourself. I thought I ate pretty healthfully before but I didn't know about the benefits of raw foods until recently. -- Kathy C.
1. LIKE GRAHAM SAYS DIET IS ONLY ONE OF MAY BE 32 FACETS OF HEALTH
2. I LIKE THE RATIO DISCUSSION, BUT I THINK IT SHOULD BE A SLIDING RATIO APPROPRIATE TO EACH PERSON AND EACH DAY OF THEIR LIVES, AS THEY MAY NEED MORE OR LESS EVERY DAY.
3. I LIKE THE IDEA OF TESTING AND EVALUATION, THAT SHOULD GO ON ALL OVER THE PLACE.
4. IF WE HAD MASS TESTING AND EVALUATION, WE COULD REALLY START TO COMPARE DIETS.
5. GENETICS CAN'T BE IGNORED AS A HUGE ROLE IN ALL OF THIS.
Many blessings to you Alicia for making such wonderfully informative videos about The Raw Vegan 80/10/10 Diet! You are such an inspiration to me and always will be. My husband and I ate starting this new way of living next month and we both can't wait! Thanks again Alicia for creating such beautiful YouTube channel and for being such a strong advocate for the raw food movement. ((((HUGS))))
@JaysRunner Thank you so much! Many blessings to YOU! It's always so great to hear from you. So happy you and your hubby are jumping on board! I'm excited for both of you. Looking forward to hearing all about your success. Big hugs to you!
@bluesdog88 hi, when citrus is tree-ripened they are not causing a acidic reaction in your body, however most citrus is picked unripe and does not ripen after being picked, hence most citrus in stores is unripe and therefor has a midly to strongly acdic effect upon the body. so unless you can get them in a tree-ripened or nearly tree-ripened state they may be better left out or at least eaten in small quantities. x
@bluesdog88 Based on a scale of 0.5 (being acid) to 7,5 (being very alkaline), raw oranges are an alkalizing fruit at 5.5. Raw lemons are incredibly alkaline at 7.5 on the scale, when ingested.
i don't know if i asked you already but.. where do you get your B12 from? I've heard about a raw vegan having complaints because her B12 was low and she started to eat eggs and fish again..
@biitersweettt "No foods naturally contain vitamin B12 - neither animal or plant foods. Vitamin B12 is a microbe - a bacteria - it is produced by microorganisms. Vitamin B12 is the only vitamin that contains a trace element - cobalt - which gives this vitamin its chemical name cobalamin - which is at the centre of its molecular structure. Humans and all vertebrates require cobalt, although it is assimilated only in the form of vitamin B12." cont'd...
@biitersweettt cont'd... "B12 synthesis is known to occur naturally in the human small intestine (in the ileum), which is the primary site of B12 absorption. As long as gut bacteria have cobalt and certain other nutrients, they produce vitamin B12"
@biitersweettt People think low B-12 is an issue that happens with only vegans, however, there are many meat eaters who also have B-12 deficiency. I take a B-12 supplement once or twice a week just to be on the safe side and get my blood tested at least once a year to make sure my levels are good. There are many vegans who don't supplement and their B-12 levels are good. Blood testing is best in case you're not absorbing a supplement properly. Hope this helps. :0)
