  • You should be a Darwin Award candidate.

  • Try looking into the fuel system recall these puppies have on them, Your sending unit, pump, and some fittings develop micro holes and allow air into the system....causing a no start situation.

I just did one of these not two weeks ago for a friend, your fuel system needs to be replaced via recall....Look into it.

  • u scared to hold the goddamn key a lil longer sexy?

  • VW quality.

  • you and your vw dealer are lemons

  • It's a diesel, you have to let the glow plugs warm up. Your like my sister's boyfriend. He thinks he can just hop into his Dodge Ram with a Cummins diesel and just start it right up. then he complains that it won't run. I go outside, walk up to his truck, turn the key, let the glow plugs warm up, starts every time.

  • check timing belt.

  • @backwoods3214 wrong.

  • You drive a manual because you are to poor to afford automatics. Manual cars are cheap and so are you. I've driven an 18-speed tractor trailer.. I bet you haven't used anything with more than 4 gears on your shitty euroPISSON toy cars. take your smart car and shove it up your dumbass.

  • You drive automatic because you are STUPID. That;s i'm trying to say all the fucking time! Ferrari kick American ass anytime anywere...Mercedes Benz rules too....USF1 SUCKS! Formula one is far beyond driven for you stupid Black Americans!!!! Go eat shit in your poor wooden houses you stupid fuck! Fucking Miles....It's Kilometres, you stupid fuck! Stupid automatic and wooden house's People. Stupid Fucks! GO and drive NASCAR, we'll drive Formula One, the Peak of the Motorsport. You fucking asshole

"That;s i'm trying to say all the fucking time!" wtf does that mean you dumbass inbred ape? Your small country keeps inbreeding and making you look more retarded. Albanian, Gypsies, Serbs, Turks, Cincars and Greeks all suck my dick!

  • Greeks are Gays you stupid Gaylord! I'm Macedonian, not greek, turk, serb or other shit. The fact is that Americans can't drive Manual and that's it. End of the fucking story. I'll not reply to you fucking gay and cocklicker anymore. My advice: Buy European car and learn Manual...Stupid fucks. You think if you put a foot on a gas pedal, and you're a driver? Stupid Automatic fucking people. EU > USA you fucking shit! - I'LL NOT REPLY ANYMORE!!!!

  • Metallica is American you dumbfuck. You are GrEEK and Macedonian is a nut so you are a faggot. Everyone I know can drive manual cars so that means we are better than you AND WE CAN DRIVE MANUAL faggot. dont reply because you know you suck and you LOSE

  • Actually you are a complete dumbshit. Stop listening to American music and stop watching American videos and stop using everything from the USA. Go fuck yourself dipshit troll. Your country hasn't done shit and is worthless haah. Go KILL YOURSELF

  • Who says that i'm listening to American shit music? And you, stop driving European cars, Stop speaking to English language, you cocksucker! You don't even have a language hahaha. Eat shit you moron. Eat shit and drive your fucking Auto transmited fucking car. Stupid people with stupid cars with stupid habbits!

  • Well dumn Shit depending on if you want to you Can drive the VW as manual or automatic.

My dad has a 2001 VW its a automatic and a manual.. and no not all Americans drive automatics.. Henry Ford the FIRST American to Be successful making Vehicles and they we Automatic..you kind of people are doomed to be very unsuccessful in life starting dumn shit with people.....

  • replace the battery and replace 5-A diod found near the pedals beside the drivers door .. and it should start normally .. AND TADAAAAA BINGO I SOLVED THE CASE :P

  • u are truly the biggest retard on in this universe

  • Well I had a bad experience in German cars, and I heard of people having a bad experience. If you think European cars are good, then good luck. Maybe you had better luck. I had the worst experience in European cars just like American cars.

  • @CHGMANCHG ~~~i have seen few mercedes and volkswogen and bmw which had over 300,000 + miles so how can u say european cars suck? europe makes the best cars in the world ask anyone who has a true knowledge about cars... and i love japanese cars too they are very good at reliability but korean cars sucks duck such as kia and huyndai..

  • I drove a 1995 BMW 325i and it had 230,000 miles on it when it died on the expressway. 3 cylinders blew out. Had 2 replace radiators, wood trim cracked, rear seat belt buckle broke, horrible electrical system, pax seat was broken within 50k miles, etc. My friend drives a UPS truck and his 740il had a broken drivers recliner, radiator blew out, engine overheated, leaked oil, and more problems, etc.

Another UPS driver had a VW with the exact same problems plus knobs and air vents falling off.

  • @CHGMANCHG ~~~~~ ur freinds must have bought some cheap ass german cars for a bargain thats why everything started to fall off..... it also depends how the previous owner treated the car, some people looks after their cars and some people abuse it,,,,, i seen a 7 series over 300,000 miles and not even a rust on the body.

  • I know a few friends that bought brand new German cars that already started having serious problems even giving it the best care. O'H well you had better luck. Good luck to you. Its all just luck and playing roulette.

  • you should go get deported

  • i cant get deported im american.

  • Neither can I. I'm American

  • @chgmanchg, Language. I thought you Christians weren't supposed to use that kind of language. That's right I keep forgetting that those rules don't apply to you. You are somehow better then others because of your childish faith. You talk about cars like you know what you are talking about. Your attitude disgusts me and i really hope you grow up and stop attacking others simply since they don't agree with you. Wake up child.

  • u almost got it but u did not hold it for to long....step on the gas a little and start it at the same time diesel is crap

  • I hate it when people put gas in my TDI too. doesn't run well unless you put in diesel.

  • sheesh!!! ITS A DIESEL!!!! u gotta let the glow plugs warm up before trying to start it. plus ur not holding the key long enough

  • Read my channel for more information...

  • So stupid american driver! That's why you drive from age of 16, because you drive Automatic. Stupid Americans! Stupid Auto transmittion!!!

  • Its quite obvious you don't know anything about these cars.

The glow plug coil light was out when she attempted to start it.

  • Let the glow plugs work for about a minute before trying to start it.

  • I'm sure the germans will sell you another one. Ah the peoples car.

  • ok this is wat u have to do cut all the wires going to the fuse box

  • did you ever figure out what the problem was, because i just bought a 2009 about 3 days ago. and they told these cars last forever. please reply back. and btw how much was it to repair it???

  • not even the same engine...

  • ill bet yo its the fuel filter, deisels have problems with those more than normal internal combustion motors

  • Not really?...My friend drives his TDI every day in the winter in Canada and it's fine. All you need are some good glow plugs and you're ready to go. It's easier if you plug the oil heater in over night, though.

  • Fuel filter needs changed? Could have gelled diesel?

  • What ended being wrong with it?? I have the same car, always starts though.

  • Just from seeing the video, I'm wondering A. Did the glow plugs have a chance to heat up...as that's kind of important when talking about a diesel. B. How long have you owned the car? How many miles are on it? If this is the standard practice you use to start the vehicle, maybe the glow plugs need replaced. Just my $.02.

  • goddd. she does wait for the glow plug light its one of the first ones to go out. don't be mean unnecessarily

  • She did wait! The "coil" light is right by the "20" on the tac.

  • If u have a TDI you should wait 4 the glo-plug light to go out.

  • ever heard of glow plugs use them

  • you got to try and crank it more than just 2 seconds lol

  • sucks when your car isnt there for you when you need it i wouldve just gotten another to tell you the truth there is no reason for anyone to be put through all that especially on a busy schedule or if you have places to go but GOOD LUCK HOPE YOUR CAR WAS FINALLY FIXED

  • i think you need a different dealership. one that knows what theyre doing

  • have you tried warming the glow plugs?

  • I was thinking the very same. But the glow indicator turned off before cranking.

  • sono convinto che sei un impedito del cazzo!

  • I don't know if it will help, but, I just got done putting the head back on my 2002 TDI and we couldn't figure out why it would start. It would sputter then stop. There's a part called an exhaust solenoid or something like that, that wasn't hooked up right. Hooked it up properly and it fired right up. So, who knows, maybe your solenoid is bad. Never know!

  • Wow, you only let the starter turn for a little more than a second and you are complaining that it's not starting? You just need to let it do its work.

  • Read my channel for more information...it explains more information.

  • dougdangger, I'm getting a 2009 tdi because gas prices suck and diesels are more durable. So go fuck yourself in the corn hole

  • THOSE CAR'S SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN BY WOMENS...FOR WOMENS I SHOULD SEID A SATURN oR SCION

  • I'm a Guy and you make me sick, you misogynistic jerk off, you need a punch in the nose. Also your English and grammar sucks, "DRIVEN BY WOMENS"? Idiot. "SEID", is that moron English?

  • gmcjetpilot, your car knowledge is not even 10%, BITCH ASS POLISH KID!!!!!!

  • "BITCH ASS POLISH KID!!!!! you are an idiot. Are you talking to me? ha-ha; I'm a US citizen, born and raised, u nazi punk. Second I have a masters in mechinical engineering, been a gear-head since I was a 13. My high school car was a 69 Camaro SS, 350, 4-spd, did low-low 12's on the qtr mile bitch. Oh that was with street tires and I built the engine. I have man wrenching skills son, you'll never have boy, now bite me, I hear you mommy calling you.

  • women drivers

  • read my channel...the car would not start and I live in southeast Texas...and the dealership has no idea what is wrong with it...my channel explains in more detail...it has taken up to 4 1/2 hours to start...one time I was going up to the dealership to go get my car and they called me to tell me the car was not ready, because it would not start

  • tru another dealership that knows what they're talking about. There are many car dealers that just can't fix cars. If you want to give your TDI jetta away, I'd gladly keep it!!

  • @maureennv

No you're just an idiot... I have a TDI as well and all you need to do is turn the starter longer...

  • Don't be afraid to crank it for a while. It will start, but you are going to have to let it crank for more than 3 quarters of a second. I believe the instructions say to "Release key when engine starts." If the engine has not started, why are you releasing the key? You are not going to hurt the starter by cranking it for 30 seconds or so unless you keep doing that for a long time.

  • Change your 50-A GLOW PLUG fuse on the firewall.

  • KEEP CRANKING IT!! your letting it off too soon

  • Exactly, I never saw her wait at all. Read the manual would ya!

  • Maybe you should watch the video before you start calling a name...The glow plug light is the first light to go out and read my channel for more information...it should not take a car over 4 1/2 hours to start and the dealership is clueless and puzzled too!!!

  • LOL! Freaking hilarious.

  • I totally agree.... READ THE OWNERS MANUAL LOL

  • The glow plug light is the first light to go out and read my channel for more information...it should not take a car over 4 1/2 hours to start and the dealership is clueless and puzzled too!!

  • Good comment im sure you have driven all the cars ever built in Germany and noted that all of them are shit.

  • except the old ones.

  • except the old ones.

  • VW's, for the most part, are GREAT cars! My 2003 GTI (bought in 2002), that i've owned and used as my 'daily driver', has had NO problems whatsoever. NONE! NADA! I use synthetic oil, which I only change once a year. The car has been AMAZING and fun to say the least. My 1984 GTI, on the other hand, had transmission problems, and I had to sell it at only 40K miles. That was VERY dissapointing! Most VW drivers have a 'love/hate relationship' with the brand! You should demand VW fixes it!

  • make a vid of u holding the key for atleats 15seconds. then cycle the glow plugs three or 4 times NEVER EVER HOLD THE GAS PEDAL TO START NEVER!!!! VERY BAD!! My 2000 jetta has 158.000 miles. starts hard every day but after its warm. starts right up love it!!!! I dont think they are bad cars. I bet if u were in europe they could fix it. haha

  • Why post this video?

  • Well, it has been to the shop 6x for not starting...it has been running fine since December, however for 4 months it was in the shop 6x for not wanting to start...this video only shows a little bit of the problem...the dealership doesn't have an idea...How many miles on your car?

  • its a lemon and only after 4 times in the shop you could have said it was a lemon and they would have HAD to buy it back from you or you could have sewed them for it

  • hahahah VW Diesel, so reliable...yours is fucked up cause you probably abuse it

  • chances are your intake is all gunked up. I just went thought this with my 03

  • My dad's does this too. Hold the gas when you turn the key, then let off once it starts.

  • hold the key. its not instant. mine is sometimes like that

  • i have a 06 Jetta TDI n ive NEVER had a prblm wit tha engine except wen i blew the shitty stock clutch only reason i take it to the dealer other then that is bc the tires had a defect n needed to be replaced and also bc i get the oil changed..

idk why yall have so many prblms with them..

  • I have a 2006 Jetta 2.5 and have had problems with it....mostly electrical it sat at the dealer for over a month, and then was in and out of the dealer for about5 months straight, I have CEL's going off about once a week.... its been about 6 months since the last problem...they replaced the computer and a bunch of other electrics.....so far so good.....Its a love hate relationship.. right now I love my car....lol

  • Hey, I love my car, but I hate that it has been to the dealership 6 times over 3 months for not wanting to start...the dealership is puzzled and can't understand what is the problem...I'm just hoping my car will not leave me stranded like it has lately

  • Of course it doesent start if you dont wait for all of the lights to go off. try to push the gas pedal a little especially if it's on gas and even if it's a diesel it will help.and wait a little more with the key on the ignition . it looks like youre stoping it to early .

  • gee this milk is spoiled, maybe I'll try it tomorrow

  • You have to wait!! Its diesel!

  • read my channel...my car has been towed in for taking over an hour to start...the dealership has been puzzled over the situation...I know that I have to wait, but it should not take over an hour to start

  • hold the key on longer its a diesel

  • Read my channel...my car has been towed in 4x for not starting (sometimes it would take hours for it to start and the dealership couldn't start it at times too)...this video was shot the day after I picked it up from the dealership

  • Air in your fuel line can cause this. Have you emptied your water separator recently? Someone accidentally fill it up with gasoline for you? Crank it a bit longer as well. Diesels are a lot different the gas engines, takes a while to get to know yours, but its worth it.

  • Read my channel...I just picked up my car from the dealership the day before...It had been towed in 4x for not starting...It would take over an hour to get it to start.

  • No offense, but the video shows you not even really trying to start it. It's a diesel, you need to hold the key on until it starts. If you're trying to win a lemon law suit, you need to clearly demonstrate the car won't start. Can you post one where you hold the key on longer than a second or two?

  • Read my channel...my car had been towed in 4x for not starting...the dealership has record of it not starting for them...ever guy that towed it in couldn't even start my car.

  • I believe you - it would just be interesting to see a video of this happening. I am dealing with a lemon myself at the moment, so I understand your frustration, and wish you good luck!

  • You might try holding the key on start longer.

  • Check out my channel on youtube for more information

  • I see your tach is jumping when you crank. It can happen with any car, just keep trying. WHat happened with me was the needle kept jumping higher with every attempt, until it eventually caught on and started.

  • happens with any car...
