Lucy in the sky with diamonds isn't about LSD. The "Lucy" who inspired this song was Lucy O'Donnell (later Lucy Vodden), who was a classmate of John's son Julian Lennon when he was enrolled at the private Heath House School, in Weybridge, Surrey. It was in a 1975 interview that Lennon said "Julian came in one day with a picture about a school friend of his named Lucy. He had sketched in some stars in the sky and called it Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds."

This is a trick question for me because I happen to be obsessed with the Beatles and I know two theories. One, Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds is about LSD (Which I don't think is true, but, how could we know? I don't know Paul or Ringo) and two (The one i believe) John's son Julian showed him a picture which Julian titled "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and this struck inspiration in John.

John's son Sean drew him a picture when he was young. The picture was explained by Sean as a girl named Lucy flying in the sky with diamonds. The LSD rumor came from a guy who I'm guessing was an OCD guy with no life who noticed that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds spells out LSD, but if you really look at it, it spells out LITSWD.
