whats the average gas mileage you can get on these? I am considering getting one but I also have my eyes on the ford explorer sport trac as well. This truck seems to have more features and it is larger too which I like compared to the sport trac but I also need to look at how good it is as far as gas mileage cuz I really dont want to get one of these if it means having to pay out the ass for fuel xP

@cenaholic1522 okay. its better then the silverado for its short wheel base but is still like a Tahoe. its got a bit more room though its its a bed. it all depends on what you're gonna do with it. but for mudding, I bet its great and you'd like it a lot. its the crew cab of a silverado with a shorter bed.

By the way both driver and passanger windows are power/ automatic windows front only the rear are power but you need to hold the button down. and the z71 doesnt mean its the off road package it means its the fully loaded (top of the line) leather interior power windows mirrors seats ac everything compared to the reg version with cloth interior and less features than the z71.

just some info also the exhaust is split dual exhaust the avalanche is hard to install tru duals on.

I love avalanches. I'm disappointed we ( i work for Ford Mo Co) don't have a suv/truck based FULL SIZED vehicle, not talking about the explorer sport trac. I also love GM's " auto trac " 4WD system, but like i said, i'm more of a ford guy, wish we had one that is full size.

My father has a 2005 Avalanche and he loves it. His is not the Z71, but it's an LT 4wd with all the bells and whistles. It rides like a Cadillac on the highway, an amazing vehicle!

@blue06lt I love 4WD, but the z-71 package just finishes everything off, locking differential, tougher suspention with more flex, the whole 9 yards, but if 4WD is just all you care about, go for it lol.
