  • Formidable ce morceau.

  • 60年代、イギリス・モッズブームの名残を残す、歌姫ジュリー・ドリスコールとブライアン・オーガー、初期トリニティー時代のナイス・オルガン技"SaveMe"

  • Big Bri .... Always my #1 Main Man !!

  • Big Bri .... Always my #1 Main Man !!

  • white aretha

  • this is a hot version of this song

  • B A was unique but who did it first? Aretha Franklin or Julie Driscoll ?

    Their voices were equally good.

  • @testtubeblues1 - In terms of recording, Aretha may have had the jump (as a gospel pianist/vocalist), though Julie had something of a career before teaming up with Brian Auger. Most notable was being a member - along with Auger, Rod Stewart, and drummer Mickey Waller (Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart... ) in Long John Baldry's band. There were various recordings with Julie (who was also a secretary for the Yardbirds fan club), though with the Trinity she took on an exotic persona and was in instant star.

  • @MrCherryJuice Steampacket were a RnB style revue not JB's band. they were each top quality musicians and have been called the first supergroup (pre-dating Cream by 2 or 3 years). they had lead vocals on different tunes.

  • @rearly62 - Thanks for that (and sorry for the delayed response). Brian Auger told a tale where Steampacket played a debutants party outside London, at some big posh mansion. Before the gig, Jools, harassed by Rod Stewart hid in a room; drummer Mickey Waller threw up in the pool; Long John was passed out drunk; and Rod was shagging the debutant in the bushes. I know Auger somewhat - I must ask him about this. And everyone thought the Who were the bad boys!

  • I love the Dusty Springfield-style hand movements, but nothing can distract from the fact that Ms. Driscoll (like a young Bonnie Bramlett was doing in the USA) brought a tasteful dose of soul to a (white) music scene that was becoming increasingly macho and muso-oriented. Imagine if she and Steve Marriott did something together around this time. Indeed, she and Arthur Brown! But even on her own, with Brian's keys pushing her onward, Julie was a delight, and this vid is a great reminder.

  • @MrCherryJuice and she's not wearing a bra either! :)

  • @circles69 - She didn't need one! (Sorry for the delayed response!)

  • A shame that Julie Driscoll, et. al. barely made inroads over here since they put their own stamp on the material they came across.

  • How does that huge voice come out of that petite little thing?! Fantastic

  • proper mod chick !!

  • OK white girl....Aretha still made this song

  • @Genevaave Jools was way more groovy and hip then Aretha ever will be.

  • @PsychLion,Jools has some serious finesse and sublime twists in her vocal style.Something as basic as "Save Me" sounds like a completely different and BETTER song.Very hip!

  • @PsychLion You wish.

  • Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity

  • Save Me - 4 minutes of pure dynamite!

  • Way way way way cool. The billing was Julie Driscoll with Brian Auger & The Trinity, but sometimes it was Julie Driscoll and The Brian Auger Trinity. Driscoll's name was always first.

  • Just fab takes me back

  • Jools is now doing avant garde jazz, with her husband pianist Keith Tippet. She's now known as Julie Tippetts, yes, she added the 's'.

Check out her solo albums, especially '1969' and 'Sunset Glow'. She's also guested on a few of composer Carla Bley's albums.

  • @VladDImpala Thank you for clearing up years of bafflement for me re: "what ever happened to..."

  • HELP ! AU SECOURS! SAVE ME BABE MY LOVE

BAUTIFUL JULIE MON ANGEL ADOREE !! je t'aime toujours !!

  • It's an Aretha Franklin cover

  • Depuis presque 40 ans je cris: Save me! Mais personne ne m'a entendu... Donc, je dois save myself. Vive la musique, le bon vin, l'illusion!

  • Just the best is all. And the grooviest clothes around. As good as The Move! Image & Sound, kick-ass!!!

  • Love her voice, the way she dresses and dances...I love everything about Jools!

  • Interesting. As a Yankee, I just now "discovered" this phenomenon. Just seven months ago I came upon the fab Ruth Pearson and "Pan's People" for the first time. Got to hand it you Brits; you hunker down and do your homework and research in ethnic musicology of espec. the US. Very impressive mimics of R&B\Soul by these Anglo artists.

  • nice share , new one to me too, great vocals very smooth and effortless, love the hammond break in the middle very Psycholedic...

  • I'm tripping out : )

  • I remember reading a fanzine interview with her where she said she cut her hair with fingernail scissors- I think she was bullshitting the interviewer.

  • AWESOME! Julie Driscoll is totally cool!

  • Her voice is so unbelievably awesome! = D

  • gotta love these funky beats

  • she' s been my favorite singer ever since i first heard her in 1968 ... we all wore her eye makeup and danced like her .. such good times !!!!!

  • Brian Auger is the man!

  • still EXXXXXXXXXXXXXXcellent so many years after

  • I love Aretha"s version of this so much I remixed it but this version is totally cool and funky as it wants to be.

I love it and that guy is banging that orgin.

I love Psycholedic soul this is some hot stuff I just found out about them today by accident.

  • they do produce new stuff - with nostalgia 77 on truthoughts!

  • Quelle belle fille et quelle belle voix elle est vraiment merveilleuse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • After Dusty Springfield... this girl Julie was the finest female vocalist.....listen to her wail!!!!!

  • Those two were wonderful ! Pity they don't produce anything any longer !
