If you take away the cross dressing they were still a really great act. That Jumpsuit the frontman's wearing reminds me of early Steven Tyler shows. They were pretty solid musicians.
who was better? I seen a lot of them-not Hendrix but probably any 'name' guitar player you'll mention. Probably the closest contender is Keith and i seen him a lot too, met him as well- JT was far and away more RnR down to his core than than Keith EVER was in my book.
"real" hes one of the greatest but not the "realist".Id have to say Chuck Berry is probly the best i mean he did give us rock n roll and thunders got his style from chucks style. thanks for posting the vids tho! 5 stars!
Thanks for the JT video! When talking guitar, real or best is like comparing the best orange with best apple you've tasted. I REALLY like JT, I think he exemplified the raw heart of R&R. However, I really like Television's guitarists as well. Also, no one better (imho) live than Rory Gallagher, none better in studio than Jimi. Shit, I could spend hours talking great guitar and their differences/similariries, but suffice to say JT was best Punk guitarist (Television's not punk but beyond!)
theres another hour of it or more, for the other comment on the date I wont swear to it, but thats the date on the cassette i got and I believe its pretty reliable.
Because in the "Part II" video, they play "Human Being" which was, as little as i know, only released in 1974's "Too Much Too Soon". Maybe they played it a year before, i don't know, just askin'...
Awesome. It's hard for my post-punk teenage kids to comprehend how radical & electrifying this was in 1973/4. It still smokes. Johnny is the king of cool.
Doubt anybody has anything earlier because Bob Guerin was probably the first to shoot video of them, film equipment back then was expensive and the size of suitcases.
remember Hazel? she went to jail in the UK for the death threats she posted for me from her job. she got fired for it, i found an article on line about it
Wow! I think I came in just at the end of all that shit. How long did she get? Some of the names escape me now. Can't remember the screen name Bernie went under but he turned out to be a good guy...sent me his original copy of 'Born To Lose' movie all the way from the UK for me to dub. Also Brian (ex-Speedfreak)...said he was dying from something he got thru sharing needles & sent me some of his personal collection of some of Thunders belongings cause he wanted a fan to look after them properly.
oh how high these guys are lol best feeling ever is playing music while stoned :)
