I feel as though you didn't quite have the vocal range Bowie has (going to a lower octave for the chorus) however, I feel as though there were a lot of really good notes in that song, and you were on key for the majority of it. In general, it was a very good cover. My suggestion for next time: don't hold back in parts. If the artist is shouting, then shout yourself, don't do a quiet shout. (Is there life on, Maaaaaaars).
For the chorus, Bb-->Eb-->Gm-->Cm7 sounds much much better. Other than that, great job on the guitar playing! Those obscure slash chords are a bitch to remember. :D

any musical artist knows this. building confidence is the hardest thing a male singer may do.
by the way, this soft acoustic version hardly calls for a vocal so big that its believable that one actually tries to reach Mars with it.
