  • As much as I like Gibson's, Martin makes the best acoustic guitars IMO

  • Beautiful, yes, desirable yes, expensive very, would i buy one no, could i buy one yes, to be frank ive played cheap guitars most of my life and with a nice low action and quality strings you get a good sound even from a plywood guitar! Imagine coming home to a house full of drunk friends spilling drinks falling over and jamming hard on your beloved gibson masterpiece? Murder he wrote, dont waste ur money on a brand, keep looking til you find a nice cheap one, you'll know when you've found it

  • those fuckin angles wuld fuck me up.. dont fuck with my fucking necks

  • @dieallshegrip I bought a pack of ten, at Costco,

  • truely a fuckin fantasy.......they are so over the top in price....i wounder who really can afford one???...beside a MAJOR recording artist and they get them for free.......they use the same woods and glue them just like everyone else....so i dont see what the fuss is......its not rocket science folks...they would like you too believe it is....but its not.....construction of guitars has not changed in 60 years......martin is another one they chage a pretty penny for that name boy..

  • You could buy one of these, or you could take the money and go to college. :P

  • GIBSON

  • if i should decide between the last original Gibson LP `59 or 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Dollar i would take the Gibson

  • @BerlinSimser I would take the 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 bucks and buy the last original Gibson LP `59, and some shecters, fenders and a few more gibsons!!!

  • 1:29 "...and a priceless work of art". Nuff said guys. You can still dream though.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish i owned one!

  • if i had a kid and and one of these guitars and the house was burning... i would leave him there and get the guitar..

  • all that fancy engraving and graphics dont make that guitar sound any better. All you need is a plain jain good ole fashion martin with a good player behind it and play your heart out

    .

  • what is the music name

  • I die just about every time I watch this

  • i would kill to get that black pearl guitar. and i dont mean that in a funny way, i would literally kill for one of those. o.O

  • save all your life to buy one... get it.... to afraid to play it

  • Did any of you know the tabs or the song?

  • I just died a little on the inside

  • How can someone dislike this video???

they don't have eyes or ears, that's the explanation, or accidentally touched the dislike button.

  • you'd have to be stupid to buy one of these or at least want to buy one...

  • @SrGreeneyed why?

  • @SrGreeneyed you ok?

  • **move away from the guitar to breathe in

  • wow...!!! i dont even have words to express gibson guitrs awesomeness! are these people gods? how is it humanely possible for a guitar to be that beautiful, great sounding and high quality at the same time?? i believe i`ve seen everything now, after i watched this video!! i am simply blown away!!!

  • ...and that beautiful smell of the lacquer when you open a brand new Gibson....I`ll never forget it....WORD..!!!

  • wow gibson way to make a guitar nobody will ever play... you and you master luthiers

  • whats the pirate one called

  • you would have to sell your house to buy one

  • when it comes to acoustic i like martin

  • take the price, and cut it in half. thats how much it costs to make one. maybe even less

  • fuck gibsons. Ibanez, ESP and Caparison kicks it's ass, 'cos theres nothing like the japanese production, precision, quality and style. You think some pointless pirateship bridge is gonna amaze me? Take a fuckin' look at ESPs shinigami and then tell me that I'm wrong. I'm just sayin'..

  • This is just cruel.:-(

  • There's only so much that folks can stand when paying extra just for an inlay on the headstock - there are so many independent luthiers whose instruments cost less and are equally good.

  • Lol it would be awesome if Gibson made a acoustic double guitar or twinned guitar :D

  • i've never played martin or taylor or fender acoustics

but i know that my gibson sj 200 true vintage is a fantastic sounding guitar .

  • i dont know whether these guitars are made to play or to sleep with them!! how often do you see these guitars being played on stage?

  • Cool, some of those master builders should work at the "standard series" plant for a while.

  • i hate the moustache bridge yuk,the rest of the guitars are wonderful...

  • i want one of those XD

  • if you could buy one you probably wouldn't be watching this video

  • look at the pickguard at 1:17 surely it could have followed the shape of the body!? am i being to pickey.

  • these guys only need to sell maybe 4 or 5 guitars a year to make a living for a year

  • amazing guitars, i wish one day to own one, maybe i could take out a house loan

  • What is the guitar at 1:26??? help!

  • Great vid! Too expensive Guitar! Irritating voice!

  • they are so expensive :(

  • gibson monarch is cheap guitar :D

  • I'm wondering how it would sound, after all the stuff that they put on the guitar

  • These guitars must cost a fortune...

  • To the person talking: Stop jerking the makers off!

  • well said.

  • wow...so much work and detail

  • i'm too poor to buy one....

  • I Think we all are

  • @dieallshegrip I don't even think they sell these very often

  • @dieallshegrip thats okay 4 gibson is a good guitar it sounds good dontkere how bad you play XD

  • @dieallshegrip Me aswell and i love guitars like that

  • I Like Martins

  • The guitars are beautiful but I don´t see the point with a guitar that is " too " beautiful to play.

  • i live next to bozeman

  • Holy Smokes, what does one of those things set you back??

Was that black one a Pirates Of The Carribean themed guitar?

  • ID LOVE TO SMASH THT UP

  • What he should've said was "The final result is something SO fucking expensive, that NOBODY on EARTH except maybe Bill Gates could afford even the lowest end model, and he would have no use for one anyway". I Love Gibson, but I can just imagine what these cost. The standard models cost more than I could ever afford.

  • well you could buy one of these or you could buy a house

  • Indeed, reminds me of the Martin D-100, which costs over $100.000.00 plus tax.

  • @justAnotherINTJ a gibson...ofc,you can live somewere else!

  • @justAnotherINTJ i take Gibson..

  • yeh i have a gibson les paul standard and would love a gibson acoustic but they are a rip id rather have a taylor tbh

  • wow, you are spot on with that statement. i just shop epiphone. they are literally the same, but cost less.

  • i was talking about bigdijndustriez's comment. but finchystryderman, you have a point.

  • Well, Most epiphones are made in Asia of low grade materials mostly by machines with average workmanship, and Gibson's are made in the US with AAA grade woods by skilled craftsmen. I'd gladly pay the 6 grand for a Gibson J-300 if I had it. Their guitars are superior.

  • no they are noy even close , some epiphone master series are not bad , but overall you cannot compare , i have owned both , trust me gibson makes great acoustic guitars some of the best

  • that comment was for bigfoot

  • Gibson sold out like the rest of the american loser companies. The Danish now own gibson, purcased with euros to a bunch of corporate greed maggots

  • hey, maybe they'll pay a little bit more attention to the quality of their acoustics, which is taking a nosedive.

  • Wow I bet you think you sound pretty smart. Well you don't, because the company is still owned by Americans. Think before you type.

  • Wrong !!! Gibson Guitar was bought back from the Norlin Corp.(Danish) in 1986 after the quality took a serious nosedive and almost resulted in a bankruptcy. All Gibson Guitars are hand made in Tennessee and owned by American private investors.

  • i swear they were making a pirates of the carribean themed guitar

  • they were dumbass u didnt see the skull and swords, the golden coirn ,and the ship maiden

  • nah you dont say

  • somebody dosen't understand the concept of sarcasm!!!

  • and bill gates son is buying computer games i'd say-"daddy buy me EVERY single fender and gibson guitar"...

  • homo

  • I am really considering marrying my hummingbird

  • Are you inviting me?

  • of course

  • is it leagal to marry that guitar jajajaja its perfect

  • my gf's from bozeman!!!! and i like gibson! haha what a deal! lol

  • why the hell would you spend 2000 dollars on a acoustic they all sound the same

  • No, they don't. Wood differences and quality of construction make huge differences in tone.

  • If you can't hear the difference in tone with A Humming Bird and a cheap acoustic wheres the point to get the GIbson go with a cheap

  • Well, if that's the case, then by all means, get the cheap guitar. In 20 years, when your cheap guitar has turned to sawdust, the Gibson will be worth triple it's original price.

  • at least it's worth something if u want 2 play the guitar

  • $2,000?! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You'd get the bottom line Gibson acoustics for that (the players). You're looking at 5-figure numbers for the guitars you see here, my friend. Not that I would want one-- I'd rather play my guitar than look at it-- but these are quite special.

  • it just further prooves my point

  • I smell a troll. or a deaf person. not quite sure which though...

  • i smell a dickhead

  • can anyone tell me please what tool he is using at 1:05 - 1:08

  • It looks like a really expensive wood burner or possibly some sort of dremel. I'm not sure though....

  • i'd be afraid to play one of these, that's IF i ever get my hands on one. they're just too beautiful!

  • Not meant for playin, buddy.

  • Can anybody tell me what to search if i wanna picture of the pirate-guitar??

  • What can i search to find the dark pirate guitar??

  • this are guitars almost too beautiful to play!

    Very nice work!

  • hmmmmm....only way i'm getting one of those is to wait til i'm 60 and fork over my entire 401k

  • n where can we find this guitars? available in US guitar stores?

  • Probably cost a billion dollars. Every single Gibson guitar is WAY OVERPRICED.

  • no not that much..i bought a very nice gibson recently for $800 us used

  • The Hummingbird and Dove are so beautiful

  • Beautiful guitars, done only like gibson can.

  • these guitars are awesome, i would love to get a outdoors/deer inlay on a songwriter deluxe. Or a custom hummingbird....

  • i own a martin and love it to death i think want try a gibson songwriter deluxe something about that guitar i havent played one but would love to...

  • i own one

  • no you dont

  • hehe yea well atleast i dont like greenday

  • hahahhaha so true

  • Still great guitars, although more mass produced than in Kalamazoo. I still recall my uncle, Hartford Synder, sketching out the Dove and Hummingbird on paper before giving his idea to Gibson. He worked there around 40 years. I kept a few of the original pickguards for myself.

Now, Heritage Guitar is in the old Gibson building in Kalamazoo. Toured the place last fall. They still makes their guitars the old handmade way. JP Moats, Rendall Wall & the other old gibson guys have kept it alive.

  • beautiful guitars.

  • i love gibson

  • Beautiful

  • no the museum guitars are like 17000 dollars!

  • i think i speak 4 evry1 when i say GET A LIFE

  • Haha I Dont Think So Mate, :P

  • simply the most beautiful guitars that ive ever seen . wish i could have the chance to play 1 /even own 1 . marcr quite right richard ashcroft , noel gallacher , serg , s crow , list goes on and on . tanglewood all the way for me best sounding guitar ive played . but any 1 in my area willing to give me a wee try of a gibson , that would be sound . :D

  • i can't believe i just watched that entire video. i was hoping to learn something, and all i got was how "masterful" gibson is. how enlightening.

  • I would definately agree that Martin and Taylor acoustics are probably better sounding instruments, but Gibsons have always had a better look. you have to put this in perspective though....all of these companies make PHENOMENAL instruments, so really in the end it all comes down to how it is played. but when it comes to electric, it's Gibson. period.

  • I own all the brands your opinion presents. I can say without hesitation that a Gibson is the best overall acoustic guitar. It does everything well where Martins have model specific limitations and Taylors are trying to emulate the ringing sounds of hand made instruments like a Manzer or Beneteau and tend to over resonate - thus making string separation muddy.

  • they are really full of themselves

  • EET FUK, WWF!!!

  • i hate people who come on here and bash gibson acoustics, look at all the famous artist that use gibson acoustics i think they know a little more than you guys do! so just shut your mouth and stop trying to act like u know everything about guitars when u dont

  • where can i find the plans in french to built a guitar sg. Than's in advance

  • Gibson makes hands down the best electric guitars.

But as far as acoustics, they are way out performed by Taylor & Martin along with other companies that focus on acoustics.

Gibson should cut production of acoustics and focus on making electric guitars.

  • Hey, my old hummingbird? And the best electrics?

    Give me a break!

  • GO EPIPHONE LOLZ!!

  • LOVE MY GIBSON!!!

    Check my posted video

    youtube(dot)/watch?v=VVYuf3nK4Mc

and comment on it if you wish

  • Verry!! nice guitar

  • this guitar isnt for playing, it's for show.

  • LOVED the video; HATED the narrator. I mean WOW if it wasnt for the guitars I would've fallen asleep lol

  • gibson guitars are certainly beautiful guitars and they're also certainly expensive guitars

but as far as im concerned they don't sound like they should for the prices most of them go for...

now i can't speak for their electrics but every gibson acoustic i've ever played has sounded dead-- no real tone, no resonance, no clarity

I've never heard an acoustic that sounds as good as a Martin and I stand by that

  • Feel free to stand by that, but the true truth is: Both Martin and Gibson are really huge corporations that manage to pass themselves of as artistic, dedicated, intimate enterprises. "Handmade" is a VERY flexible word. What these guys are really good at is making you believe gifted artisans invest their soul and spirit into each of their instruments, which is utter bullshit.

  • true but never the less when comparing the two as much as i like to believe the quaint notion of craftsmanship i still haven't heard anything that sounds like a Martin...

  • I feel that Gibson was great when it first started out, and now has become nothing more than a overly expensive brand of guitar. To me, a guitar is a guitar and the brand shouldn't have any effect on how it sounds. What matters is how well the guitarist can play the instrument.

  • WELL SAID videoslacker

  • Yeah but you can't deny the fact that a good guitar is a good guitar...but yeah i think Gibson is overrated now-a-days...They have awsome guitars...but not GOD LIKE as they want to make you think...

  • gibsons are more for art, fender is more player friendly, i love fender more for alot of reasons, i love gibson on small levels, but their stuff is way over priced, even for an Epiphone to play like an old gibson ud need to put more money into it, just go fender, change the pickups and strings to heavier gauge and your set!

  • You ever played a Fender acoustic? That pretty much invalidates your comment.

  • i wish i had a better job so that i could get on of thoes.

  • And they say Gibson is overpriced. They should see this video and recognise the hard and painstaking work they have, after all, people at Gibson have to be payed, and I'm sure their salary isn't that shaby at all.

  • Are you kidding? Gibson IS overpriced b/c they perpetuate the fallacy that they are selling a handmade product, when it is infact made on a CNC machine. This vid only shows the very top level acoustics that cost several thousands of dollars. They don't show you the rest of their factory where 90% of their other guitars are made on MACHINES.

  • Having taken a four-hour tour of the Bozeman factory when we were in Bozeman June 2005, I'm here to tell you that you are WRONG. The guitars ARE hand-built. I'm not even going to justify your other dumb comments with a response.

  • Gibson is not overly concerned with the salaries of their luthiers, merely those of their shareholders. They are, after all, a corporation.

  • The sole purpose of a corporation is to make money for it's shareholders, and they will often do anything they can to ensure that maximum profit is obtained. When I say "anything", that includes using a name, legacy, image, and impression of a certain type of product, while actually producing a totally different product. Do some independent research. Don't take my word for it.

  • Okay, I won't take your word for it. I'll take the word of thousands of guitarists for over half a century who all say gibson is the best, including myself.

  • thats what im talking about!

  • sweet jesus, those guitars are amazing. I like the one with birds (doves?) flying on the pickgaurd up into the neck, nifty.

    <3

  • ill give you 2 dolla for it

  • Damn, if I had one of those, the price I'd pay it, I would probably never play it and seal it in a glass box up on my wall.

  • Nice..If you've got a minute, check Mathew Smith (Rodrigeus)..there's a new post address there..(Padre)

    Hope you like the accoustics..

  • Nice..If you've got a minute, check Mathew Smith (rodrigeus)..There is a new post on that site (Padre).

    Now thats a cool sound!

  • I love Gibson, but a just little overboard I think.

  • i'd be super scared when handeling one of those!

  • id say martin make sthe finest acoustics

  • beautiful

  • I'd be afraid to touch most of those guitars forget actually playing one!

  • expensive much?

  • awsome

  • Probably cost a fortune.

  • The "Pirates" on is estimated at $100,000.

  • wayhey!
