So I'm a chick w/ dreadlocks. I've had dreads twice in my life and this time I've had them in for two years. It feels like I need some change w/ my hair and found the knotty boy dreadlock remover on the internet. My dreads are down my back, do you think I will need two kits to get mine out? I love my locks, but losing them is the worst part, I will be so distraught at first but at least I wont have short hair.
getting rid of mine after 2 years. it will feel good to actually wash my hair every day again. do you put the conditioner in after you take a bath and wash them with the shampoo?
hey i'm thinking of getting dreads, but i'm pretty sure i'm not gonna have them any longer than a year anyway, and then remove them - i really don't wanna cut my hair (I'm a girl and i think i'd look horrible w/ short hair^^...)
would you still recommend me to get dreads at all? did you cut your hair short after you took em out? was your hair really harmed after that ?
you can get synthetic dreads! They are fake hair put into your real hair and they look sooo real and you can have any color you want, and they are so easy to take out. Google "synthetic dreads"
omg you are so adorable and i actually want dreadlocks but i am kind of afraid haha. i go to a liberal arts college and i think i may stick out like a sore thumb haha. but i loved your dreads. you should have kept them
@filterenvelope You really ought to have held each dread above where you were coming in order to at least reduce the pain, and I can't help but wonder if you were planning on getting a hair cut why not just cut them off and then start from scratch. Probably would have been cheaper too.
Have never heard of that product, is it any good? Though I'm pretty sure any conditioner would take a similar amount of time (a long time), no matter how good.
ive had dreads for about 4 or 5 months now and am not liking how there turning out.. im gonna be removing them and then starting them over with the backcomb and crochet method..

Also, I crochet my dreads, I'm hoping that wont make it exponentially more difficult to comb out.

This may be fine for people with not so natural thick hair , what about a person with Natural thick hair that has been dreaded for years.

It took about 8 hours, over 2 days. Yes, if you get yours redone I recommend b/c & crochet. That's how mine were done initially.
