I knew the end of Disco was near when music studios ran out of regular music and started bastardizing things that should never have been set to a disco beat, like Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and pretty much every movie soundtrack of the 1970s.

The media didn't simply KILL disco. They beat it to death, set it on fire, raped its flaming corpse, snorted its smouldering ashes and then had the nerve to wonder aloud what had killed its popularity.
