@HEADSUPBERKELEY Not giving out, but praising. He means "awful" in the sense of "awful good". Maybe this is a Kerry thing?! At any rate, afterwards he says "the best fiddle player inside in this town". Its one of the great things about the older musicians, they all had the utmost respect for each other. Not like the professional scene of today.
