Or instead of choosing 1 or the other, combine the two ideas for best results..... Do the line all the way down, but be carefull when brushing to not brush on the ties. Then its a little quicker and still has good results.
I have power-loc track at the moment, will this ballast trick work with this track type as well? Frankly i dont like how EZ track has the rail joiners to deal with.
The fast way, like he showed on the side where the ties are covered, would be good for branch lines and spurs. The other method is for main lines that are kept up.
Yeah, a much cheaper way is to just purchase some Elmer's glue. Mix together a bowl of 50% glue and 50% water, and put it in a sprayer. There, you have a much better quality Scenic Sprayer.
This is an interesting video, I like the fast way because you could use this as a sort of way to ballast a secondary track. Why don't you just use white glue, that's pretty much what scenic glue is.
Thanks for making ths video. i have always wanted to try this. I like the easy track because of the solid connections and the 33 1/4 and 35 1/2 inch radius curves. I'm investigating with shims to super-elevate such curves on the outside edge..... maybe you could do a video on that.. Good luck, i was an Air Force Brat for 18 years. All my layouts had to be portable LOL. Thanks again.
Thanks for posting this video. I have always thought of a way to ballast my EZ track without having to glue it down to my layout. I must try this method on my layout because it looks effective and easy! Thanks again for posting!
Thank you for making this video. It should come in handy as soon as I plan my second version of my basement layout.. I plan to do it more like the fast way, but I actually will want some of the ballast on the railroad ties.. makes it look more realistic.
its not only helped me but alot of other people starting out with e z track scenery that i bet are trying to find a video like this. anyways thanks man and happy railroading :)
I'm just going with the grey roadbed I have right now for the EZtrack... n
