  • I teach chemistry in the San Diego Unified School District. All classes I have are 35 or larger. I have one class with 39 students, 16 of these students are special education students. All students are required to take chemistry as a graduation requirement and there are no prerequisites. This is supposed to be UC prep chemistry. When we expressed concern about safety we were told to "think outside of the box" and make it work. We no longer do labs, just demos.
