Buy a Harley cheap. Then do it up yourself. Its much more rewarding. if you cant do it or dont know how. Than I guess this bike is for you. But working on your own bike can be just as fun as riding it. This bike is a rough ride compared to the Dyna class. The seat sits a little to high. But It does look cool. To the Haters.. People look at there Harleys Like Hot Rods. And like to hear that rumble sound.
some of us do ride em like we stold them! My Harley only cost me around $3,400. I'm not rich! And My Harley Has no chrome, no Windshield, and no poker runs! I earned my Harley! And Fuck the image! Why have more women wanted a ride on my Harley Than they ever did on my Gixxer? Stop the hate!
like the front it shows some old days style. but the rear fender screams up to date. the bike is a mix of modern and old, it just didn't flow right. wille g missed the mark. he needs to let the designers do their jobs. but over all it shows harley is trying to listen now, instead of telling us what we want. japan listened, money talks. i love the look of ww2 and post ww2 harleys, and hope to see some more styling cues from eras between 1920 and 1950's.
I dunno man I see whatcha mean about the rear fender and that it IS a mix of modern and old, but thats what I love about HD - you can turn a bike into somethin you want to look a certain way. I think it flows but in a different sort of way. I'd DEFINITELY drop those bars down maybe do some buckhorn style bars but overall I think it shows promise in a new direction.
hey i have a harley davidson crossbones which is awsome and im thinking about getting a diffrent fender and how do you guys think a skull headlight would look with coffin saddle bags that i might try and get made
hi. im from mexico and i wanna buy this bike but in mi case im not rich ill give 15% and own the rest in 3 years, ill pay about 1 1/2 bike price, mi question: you think worth it ? please answerme im getting closer, or i should buy the dyna super glide, its cheaper but i dont know.
i want bike a bike for all mi life and i think this would be a great start.
actually i do like the crossbones, but what annoys me is the marketing campaign... i think harley has forgotten their roots... they are trying to capitalize on the outlaw image while distancing themselves from it at the same time... i dont think i would buy another harley but i would build my own next time because in my opinion, harley sells you an unfinished bike... i really like the new xr1200 though that is the best thing they have done in years
Funny thing about negative H-D comments. I've read them for a long time, but H-D just keeps going strong. I remember when all the Japs dissed the V-twin. Now look around. Same old whiner bullshit from newbies, techies, and wannabe racers who don't know how to ride. Hey idiot in shorts on your GSXR- yeah you- do you realize that thing is supposed to turn? Yes, yes... with your sandled feet up... UP! (moron) No, it won't rip off your little neon lights. Now go learn to ride or shut the fuck up.
Wow, I'm so excited to spend even more money for a springer softail that has a sprung saddle. Just buy the damned softail and put a solo saddle on it. And whats with the gay plastic crap under the seat? They couldnt even come up with anything better than a cover to hide the stock seat mounts and they use the same fender with the impression for the stock seat. They missed the mark with this one. Dont bs us with a rehash and call it a new design.
i have to agree..not to mention that bikes looking like this have been around for years and built by "old school" builders over and over again. The basis of Harley bikes is fantastic but attention to detail is poor, simple (eg. bolts, plastic parts, shifters, stock everything that bolts on). innovation not renovation (and that bike is fucking ugly in real life..)
This is kind of neat, but it strikes me as a little corny. For this reason, I would be hesitant to buy one. Maybe it's just because my uncle builds old Harleys from original parts and he has at least one that looks just like that, only a lot less silly, much cooler and it's red.
Well said, Hilmarhd! I am a future HD owner, I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what I wanted.. I was leaning toward a fatboy, but the second I saw the crossbones, I knew it was the one.
sorry bro but if you have to stear a bike you do not know how to ride! I have riden hogs and think they are well balanced so again you do not know what your talking about.
Would you like to talk about counter steering?I've been an AMA Member, since 1987. I'm about to begin my 9th year of GNCC Hare Scrambles, I placed 6th last year in my class. I've flat tracked, road raced, and motocrossed. I'll be a participate in Bike Week at Daytona. I practiced last weekend with a Team Monster Kawasaki Factory rider. I've rode a Ducati 900 Elefant from Texas to Alaska. Going to Bike Week?
Its not what you ride its how you ride. I could give two shits as to who makes a bike as long as it is safe on the road. Most people that ride harleys need a lesson in the proper way to follow a line around a turn.
Most people who ride could use a lesson..... race/sport bikes ownership doesn't come with the skill to ride it. Bikes are built for different people, different types of riders... enjoy what you enjoy.
Bike nights, Ask around at the local bike shops about bike nights.Hooters every where has bike nights.Just go to the local bike shops and read the posters, see when there haveing bike runs and ask around.
Jap bikes may be better but I find Harley's more appealing. I have no idea why. Even the ones I don't like, like this Cross Bones, at least get a reaction out of me. Can't say the same for Jap cruisers. IMHO.
What's stone aged about them these days? They seem pretty well engineered.
Time for Harley-Davidson to step up along with the US Auto makers, and compete with the Japanese, and Euro's. US industries have taken for granite that Americans will buy American, well it's just not happening.
I agree that a jap bike is better as on overall machine but if I was to give you a Harley Davidson for a second bike would you give it back to me or keep it? :)
I only have ridden Japanese bikes (including trying out a cruiser). I ride sport, but don't bash Harley's, either. Better in what way? In terms of cost (cost to obtain and maintain), sure. Otherwise...not really.
Cost, Performance, Reliability, Handling, Maintenance, Weight. Pretty much everything. I'm not bashing harley but i'm a motorcycle tech and harley is stuck in the stone age.
"As a sport rider you should know why they are better than cruisers!"
I don't ever intend on owning a cruiser after riding one ;) (I have a GSX-R750...amazing machine)
iinj, I know they cost more to run and maintain and require more frequent maintenance. So does a Ducati (which I would consider down the road). As far as performance goes...it's a cruiser. I don't see much point to talking about cruiser performance unless there's something seriously off about it.
No kidding!!! Why bother with the whole engineering thing? Why bother with new models and new features? Why bother with new technology and performance? Why bother with ANY of that when you can re-pop 20 year old parts, slap the HD logo on it and sell it by the ounce like gold! I swear, you could sell a lump of dog shit if it had the HD logo on it. You could probably get a couple hundred bucks for it too!
Liar piece of shit,I'm a Harley Engineer, what I see from your last comment: any jap bike is better than a Harley.you say that because you are a poor fegget that can't afford a descent Bike.. I'm not saying the Harley's are the best bikes ever built, but the looks sure beet the crap out of all the japanese bikes. I've fixed many many Kawi's and yamahas.and they are nothing but bullshit put together and hoping it works, Harley Has the best looking, BEST for working on engines & BEST Sounds.
At one point during their existence they had a problem with the forks bending on rough roads but it's since been changed. So if you like it, get it. It's just not my cup of tea.

I think you're absolutely right.
The rear fender is all wrong.
A full rear fender, Indian Scout style, would have been just right.
Also, did I miss somethnig or does the bike have only one disc up front?
Either she needs fork braces or two discs, else in heavy braking the front fork WILL twist.
