It's incredible that these people think they should have the instant right to be accepted as refugees without having to prove it. They could be carrying diseases, they could be planning terrorist attacks, they could be running from the law in their own country. Yet they expect us to just trust their word.
The vast majority of people imprisoned in the detention centers are found to be legitimate refugee's and are allowed to stay.
The processing could take place outside of a prison, which would not cause such horrifying mental anguish to families that occurs over the many years of unneccesary detention these people are forced to suffer.
As i said in the other video, Australia, in signing the UN Refugee Convention, has promised to keep its borders open to unannounced asylum seekers, including those arriving by boat.
