  • and why to they talk arabic in egypt than?

  • They "speak", not "talk", arabic in Egypt because of the Muslim Arab conquest of that country in 639 AD. Before that they spoke Coptic, a language that descended from ancient Egyptian.

  • Very interesting.

I love all forms of music and this is amazing.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you, I've had my drum for at least 10 years...I needed some basic

  • That is a middle eastern drum, native to the near east. Not Afriac LOL hahahahahaha

  • i also play the daruka..arg....a bit difficult to slap.....it may be tha darbuka i dont now

  • you pronouced it wrong -_-" its beladi

  • Note: Throughout this glossary, many terms and song titles are mentioned which come from Turkish, Arabic, or other languages. These Middle Eastern languages have alphabets which are different from the Roman alphabet that the English language is based on. Different people will spell these words differently when using the Roman alphabet. For example, "beledi", "baladi", "beledy", and "balady" are all possible legitimate spellings for the same word.

  • this is turkish and arabic not african?

  • really nice video!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a simple but fantastic video! I own an African drum, but it sounds out of tune...??? Your drum sounds great though, where did you buy it? How Tall? How Wide? Is it ceramic or aluminum cast? I am new, but determined to be great at playing, I will be performing with/for three local bellydance troupes and I need a great sounding drum to practice with!!! Any suggestions welcome...

  • im curious to know why the caption says african drums,

  • that's because doumbeks are egyptian instruments, and egypt is in africa.^^

  • yea but egypt isnt referred to as an african society.. they are arabs.. which makes it an arabic drum...
