I have a small tree and two cats. I have the tree on my small filing cabinet. My answer...I duck taped it down....lol and put a skirt under the tree to cover it up...now they cannot knock it over. When I was a kid...we nailed the tree to the floor!

Don't keep them out at all! Just use LED lights with a low power cable so they don't kill themselves then let them have fun! It is christmas after all, their gift is a giant climbing frame with wiggling dangling objects!

After spraying my cat(Sebastian) with water when he was a kitten,he never touches our tree.He is now 8 and hates to get into trouble.He will sleep under it or next to it but never ever has he messed with it or the decorations.I have had other cats and even they learned not to bother the tree.Using the water bottle with saying No! in a firm voice worked for me.Never have I ever used phisical force on any of my pets.
