  • 2:41 mic is doing a bad hide and go seek at the top of the screen

  • Upstarts!. You never knew the joy of watching a 16 mm print and then going out for chowder at Jack August's. Come to think of it, I don't miss either one. There's something inadequate about crying over technological processes and commercial establishments. But, if Hitler did it, I guess it's OK.

  • This is a scream. Brilliant. I still miss Sheehans and Curtis and Schwartz. I offered to volunteer at Forbes to help get more of the videos on the shelves. There are tons of them still waiting to be processed.

  • Very funny. Could have had a line about Herrell's loyalists shuttering Cold Stone too.

  • Ah... Sheehan's basement, Curtis & Schwartz, Aguirre, Pantry Moths... well done!!! Nail on the head.

I do wonder what Bruno Ganz thinks of this meme?

  • Very funny! So did all of the videos end up at the Forbes Library?

  • big hit with the conservation students here at smith!!!!!

  • The film seems exceptional, and the subtitles to rchange the story is brilliant! Just awesome! Great ode to our beloved former Pleasant Str Videos!

  • This scene from "Downfall", with amusing and clever subtitles is seen a lot.

I wonder how many people have seen the film through in its entirety, and realized what a superb, serious and agonized film it is. It ranks with "Schindler's List", or "Saving Private Ryan" as deeply human, and chilling art.

Well known for warm and playful roles in films like "Vitus" and "Bread and Tulips", Bruno Ganz delivers the definitive portrayal of Hitler. Sadly, more people know the spoofs than know his genius.

  • This just made me and my partner's night!

  • This movie is called Der Untergang. They first used it for an xbox live video :D

  • So much win here! Party Down, Godard and Jake's, amen....

  • Ayee! Au point! I'm impressed with how many now what the closing of Sheehan's meant. A lot of old timers still around here.... but not enough to keep Pleasant Street alive?? Ayee!

  • Fantastic. And a great closing line, to boot.

  • RIP 591

  • OH MY GOD! So funny and true and perfect. I'm almost (but definitely not) sad that Jake's will be reopening in the fall because once it does this ending will lose it's punch.

  • You're beautiful, Landry.

  • Beautifully done, this.

  • great job!

  • Thank you, everyone. :)

  • excellent!

  • ‎"Did they learn nothing from the closing of Sheehan's?" Brilliant. Love this from start to finish.

  • That is a great punchline.

  • You NoHo/Hamp folks will like this!

  • I miss Pleasant Street Video, thank you uploader.

  • Fucking brilliant man. I loved Pleasant St. Video.

  • This is brilliant! Landry, is this your doing?

  • This is pants-peeing funny.

  • Brilliance! I want to hear Bill's take on it. I can imagine his grin.

  • Thank you celandry45. Brilliant.
