I was reading the comments about women preacher/pastors, and the comment that came at me from one of the viewers was about timothy and how a bishop should be husband of one wife, but people we must take notice that the scripture says "If a man DESIRES the office of a bishop.... the difference between desire and called are two different things. Anyone can desire to be a bishop, look at the catholic church. But a preacher/pastor is called by God to be a preacher/pastor.

To all misinformed.....the bible is our ONLY example (line upon line, precept upon precept)!! Need to distinguish between SALVATION, GIFTS & Position in ministry! If a woman can usurp authority over a man (I Tim 2:13) then I can wear her panties! How can a man obey his pastor @ church (Heb 13:17) and then switch roles & be the head of his house (I Cor 11:3, I Tim 3:5). GOD is not the author of CONFUSION (I Cor 14:33). There was no evidence of women "apostles or bishops" in the early church.

Hi! There's biblical evidence of female preachers, even Deborah the Prophetess who led Israel as Judge. No one has authority unless God gives it. Timothy served Ephesus, where women led idolatry (a similar situation on Corinth). Obeying a woman at church and switching roles at home? No switch. In worship we submit to each other. The home is where a husband leads - by love, sacrifice, and subjecting children, not his wife. She subjects herself to her husband, not men. And I'm a male pastor.

The Old Testament pastoral ideal beyond our idea of local congregational admin. It included civil authority - charged as overseers and & theocratic judges. It translated to New Covenant because the job continued. I serve without worrying about a preacher's gender. In the kingdom there's no male or female. No need to see heaven before getting with God's program.
