  • Why Three Locomotives! the amtrak auto train, america's largest passenger train) has only 2!

  • @TheDylanJoyce Amtrak probably needed the third engine in New York or something. They were probably just transporting it.

  • What time does the Lake Shore Limited come through Cleveland?

  • @OhioRails 48 goes through at 5:00 a.m. and 49 goes through around 3:30 a.m.

  • Nice! Train forty-late living up to its name haha.

  • Yep, the Late-For-Sure-Limited. =)

  • I wonder why it was 2 hours late. I also filmed this train when it was 2 hours late and it was going real fast.

  • Nice video! You probably were glad to see the train so late; filming in the middle of the night doesn't yield much in return...

  • Thanks! All four of the Amtraks (Capitol Limited 29 and 30, and Lake Shore Limited 48 and 49) come through Amherst in the middle of the night between the hours of 1 and 5 (if they are on time). My brother and I are always happy when there is a late Amtrak becuase we rarely get to see them! =)

  • Nice catch of the triple header.

  • Thanks!

  • Nice catch! How often does the Lake Shore limited have that much power?

  • It normally only has two engines. Catching three was pretty rare.

  • thats so cool i have never seen one up close before awesome vid :)

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! =)

  • What time did the train roll in?

  • This train came through Amherst at about 8:45

  • Thats preety neat!

  • Normally I can't video Amtrak becuase they all go through in the middle of the night, but this one was late and came through in the morning. Thanks for commenting!

  • What ever happened to the heritage dining cars they ran on the lake shore ltd?

  • They stopped running them a while back and replaced them with those dinette cars. I'm not sure why they don't run the heritage diner car anymore though.

  • They still run them, but mostly on the silver star. Every so often you can find one on the lake shore limited, but I rarely see them since the Lake Shore ltd pulls into elyria at 4:18 a.m.

  • I saw the Silver Star during our vacation to Viriginia and it had the Heritage dining car. This was the first Amtrak video that I could make in Amherst because all of them arrive in Elyria in the middle of the night (unless they're late)
