  • Hello, so these lenses that you have, would they mount to an "M42" adapter? I'm looking to buy M42 lenses for my 450d, and i have searched craigslist and goodwill with no luck.

    Thanks

  • can't you only have telephoto lenses with the converter or is it one without any glass and can't make the lenses focus to infinity?

  • @RaceXtreme520 Canon FD to EF adapters need glass in them to focus properly, at least I know they do for the 5D; not sure about the 7D but probably true. Pentax PK to EF adapters don't need glass. Other types of mounts don't need glass either. This is true for any FD lens - telephoto, wide, normal, zoom, etc.

  • OMG where is this swap meet? i need some FD lenses!!

  • BTW, I have been selling some of the lenses I've found in my travels to discount locations. You can check out my ebay store and search "lens." I just went through a large lot of them, but will add more in the coming days so check back often. Thanks!

  • There is no noticeable crop factor with a 5D Mark II or other full-frame CMOS sensor camera. The 7D, T2i, etc., have an APS-C sensor, which is smaller and therefore has a 1.6x crop factor. I say no "noticeable" crop factor, because since there is an adapter between the lens and camera that adds to the focal length, it is conceivable that there may be some aberration in the actual focal length, i.e crop factor. But without scientific measurement I have not noticed anything.

  • Hi

Fantastic stuff. How are you getting along with the lenses? I am an Indie prod/dir/writer. I am interested in your findings and any available lenses. Test footage would be the best of course. Also pls do mention if there was any crop factor when you put them on with the adapter. :)

  • What kind of adapter is that? And how much did it cost?

Also, How do you find out about the camera swap meets. I'm in LA.

  • @bigbfobbs its called an fd lens adapter, there only meant for manual focus. you can get the adapter on ebay for cheap. I own one myself, there great!
