I served 8 years in the Army here in the states and there I learned how many places we intervened in one way or another. Amazing we talked all that crap about Castro 90 miles away from Miami. Yet we asked So Africa (apartheid central) to help with Unita in Angola. SInce the Unita had So Afr/and US backers, Cuba decided not to just train the MPLA but to fight alongside them. That says it all. We (US) didnt want to get our hands dirty so we had others do it 4 us. Cuba showed us up. Damn.

My biggest fear is that a new generation of white and black children are being pushed towards racist and extremeist ideologies because of the incompetance of the governments in Southern Africa. And this will lead to more violence unless something is done to pull away.

Like Flatlineonfire said ' No one won the war'. South africa achieved it's objective and Angola achieved theirs. South Africa was never ravaged by war, Angola was. Yet we both claim victory !
