  • just out of curiosity what does the "fracking industry" use the hydroelectric power for? i think there two issues although interesting are entirely unrelated. See any power lines running to a frac location? nah its all diesel dude, and just be thankkful they dont make pits like in ft mac :S. Still good video thanks

  • Greed is messing up the north.

  • Rich Coleman's and Christy Clark's Northern BC = a polluted toxic dump . There is no zero impact , 10,000,000 litres a day granted to Talisman Gas for 23 years . that's allot of toxic

water . Between Fracking and Tar Sands Oil , that should just about use all water resources in

Canada over 23 years . I would think in 5 -10 years fresh water will be like gold and I'm not trying to exaggerate .When Rich Coleman is done as Minister I wonder what high paying Co. he'll be working for .

  • We as a collective can still demand zero impact to bring this gas to us. It will just have to cost us more, the true cost. There is no excuse for poor engineering and judgement.

  • People dont have the proper perspective, we still operate under the mindset that the earth is infinite, even those who would vocally deny that say the opposite with their actions.

My point is that, there will not always be another pristine paradise, we do all this damage and just think its nothing a small area in the grand scheme its inconsequential.

Alas thats not the case, the cumulative damage is mounting even in our short lifetimes, so how much damage will we allow before we change?

  • ok some one here has to bring up Battlestar Galactica on that show frack is what they said instead of the f word... ok now listen to this but replace fracking with f***ing thats what a large amount of people are going to hear when they listen to this

  • Fracking...deservedly, the word sounds like an obscenity. Potable water is a Canadian luxury. We should be better stewards of this globally precious resource instead of acting like foolish youngsters having a food fight in front of starving people.

  • It's time we stop thinking pay cheque to pay cheque, and start thinking about generation to generation! We need to stop this fracking bs!!

  • We need energy. How can we minimise the environmental impact?

  • @ezzerdamoose I'm not sure if you have ever heard of it its sort of under the radar but I believe its called Solar Energy.

  • @L2rsSwc The individual cells require highly volatile chemicals and are filthy to produce. Please Google china+protest+solar+factory In Haining City, Zhejiang province, the pollution was so bad at the production factory, the Chinese gov, not usually one to care about that kind of thing, yielded to public pressure and shut it down

  • Wake up, now, or deal with the consequences. It's not like we don't know what we're doing. And, yes...it does involve a lifestyle change. Nothing we can't do, if we show the collective will to do so. Making money is NOT an excuse.

  • Listen people. Everyone here has a computer, an ipod, ipad, iphone, smartphone, home phones, earbuds, refrigerators, plates, glasses, clothes, built with child labors, cheap materials, chemicals, plastics, brought over here by polluting trucks, and ships, and cars, wrapped in tons of useless cardboards and plastics... Save the planet? Yeah right. To stop "Fracking" the planet we have to stop "f@cking" with the planet. The companies doing that are doing it because we all live this lifestyle.

  • no more

  • STOP FRACKING NOW ---- IT DESTROYS MOTHER EARTH

  • Everybody below me has a point

  • tell bob not to use oil or gas in protest, see how that goes.

  • And how much does bob get payed by these company's to drill on his land? It is on his land after all right? If not then bob needs to realize, without all of this, his life wouldn't be so spectacular as it is right now. No oil=No gas, No heat, No life.

  • I work oilfield in Saskatchewan. Oil brings money, but at the same time destroys mother earths natural beauty. I personally hate the environmental impact the oilfield has on its surroundings, but at the same time I have become greedy because of the money. Good luck earth there is no stopping this abomination.

  • The water containers shown at 2:13 are different colours. The blue ones are fresh water, the others are recycled water.

How many Olympic swimming pools of fresh water does the province of BC ave in total? How many Olympic size pools of fresh water rains in BC in a year?

For the Site C dam power, "that fracking will use all of it" statement - is that all the power all year long, everyday? My understanding is that the fracking industry is cyclical, similar to Canadians heating demands.
