this is such a sad story! it made me cry, i cant believe what horrible things a person could do, to leave poor marco starving and desperate, and to torture that poor, innocent mare, and the foal, for no reason what so ever. Its truly barbaric. Its so lucky that he was rescued and he is a realy beauty now he is back to full health. RIP Mare and Foal.

I hope the person that did this rots in hell!

I think I have read about this horse somewhere in some abuse case documentaries. But I never saw pictures of the horse. He is so pretty! He looks like an arab or at least part arabian. :)

Actually Misty was purchased by Marco's new adoptive family prior to his rescue from the woman that abused him. It was another mare that was killed in the pasture.

Do to unforeseen circumstances Marco's adoptive family had to give both he and Misty up. They are now both with Habitat for Horses looking for a loving home. You can check them out at the Habitat for Horses website.
