well, religions based on laws can't really change their laws no matter what century it is. You have to look at how it impacts on them and others.. and decide whether it should be accommodated or not. In the case of dog ownership, them thinking dogs are dirty or should be shot, and to prevent people from owning and walking dogs, is not something that should be accommodated. Similarly, if they had a problem with the standards of the way others in wider society dress.

well, religions based on laws can't really change their laws no matter what century it is. You have to look at how it impacts on them and others.. and decide whether it should be accommodated or not. In the case of dog ownership, them thinking dogs are dirty or should be shot, and to prevent people from owning and walking dogs, is not something that should be accommodated. Similarly, if they had a problem with the standards of the way others in wider society dress.

Sikhs wanting to wear turbans aren't a problem and can easily be tolerated, in the army they can wear bullet proof turbans(there's an article on that), and in the airport they can be checked respectfully like with a wand and only manually if the wand detects metal in the turban. I wasn't insulting you, but I couldn't believe what you've written. the real suras are on Wikipedia as I said with their meanings, and the wife part is all wrong. In Arabic language (which is the language of the Quran)
many words have the same meaning, in the verse there's a word that means (leave) but was translated to (beat) An Nisa 34 (Wikipedia).

@chrstilen5 In Literary Arabic (Standard Arabic) words are sometimes alike. it's a complex language it's not just words and vowels. you won't be realizing this because Arabic isn't your native language. don't think that reading Qur'an in English is as same as reading it in Arabic, it's way different especially the standard Arabic which the Qur'an was written in.
