You probably think of Ludmila Engquist (born in Russia, Swedish citizen in -96 or something). She was diagnosed with breast cancer in -99. She didn't win the WC, she came in 3rd place (100m hurdles, in Sevilla, Spain)

I don't see how that has anything to do with what I wrote, but yes, as every small child and trained monkey can understand, 1997 was before 1999. I guess that doesn't make her the "world champion who had to overcome breast cancer", but just simply "world champion".

@h3rzleid She then Switched to Bobsled where she was banned for taking more drugs. She served a ban in athletics from 92-94 having been caught for drugs under her maiden name Narozhilenko when running for Russia. She was an uber cheat and none of her titles or times should be credited by anyone.
