hi last week a (basking shark) was seen off camp bay gibraltar but diffrent organisations had diffrent opinions now can anybody tell me if the fin of a basking shark is similar to that of a great white
Does anyone think its possible that a white shark could be off the coast of Cornwall? I hope they could be there but, from what I understand, whites are very sensitive to pollution in water. Would they really hang around in water that is so dirty?
technicly white sharks could be off the cornish coast, they got all they need. in fact even the temperature of the waters wuld be ideal. but it seems as there wouldn't be white sharks for some reason.
Check out the sun footage of the family filming a 'Great White'. Judging by the shape of the dorsal fin Im guessing its a basking shark. (Not the other attacking footage, Not sure what that is)
The Sun's footage is definitely a Basking Shark, and its not the first time they've done this. Quite a few years ago they had a photo of what they claimed to be possible Great White lurking just under the service which was also a Basking Shark.
You'll note the Sun is actually crafty in forming it into a question. "Britain's First Killer Shark?" etc.
The other attacking footage is likely to be a Mako, or a porbeagle which is a cousin of the great white, porbeagles are timid creatures so no worries =] although mako's are dangerous and unpredictable, they can also swim up to 55 mph making them the fastest sharks.
I know they're docile creatures that wouldn't attack humans, but say if you jumped on it's face and started punching it repeatedly, would it retaliate in anyway?
the song is ja rule ft lil wayne - uh oh .... by the way ja rule is a crap rapper and a fake (supposidly) ... but lil wayne has just been voted the best MC from 2006 - 2007

how big can those sharks grow??
BeckaOTD 4 years ago
Normally about 26ft long, but the largest ever recorded was just over 40ft long.
Its the 2nd largest species of fish in the world.
The only thing larger is the Whale Shark, another harmless plankton feeder.

nooo, blue whale is the biggest

The Blue Whale isn't a fish. ;)

Have basking sharks ever tried like sucking on a human? they have no teef right?
thisblackheart 4 years ago
no they dont have any 'teef' (please learn how to spell lol) they are filter feeder and they eat zooplankton, small fish and invertebrates.
they would also have no interest in eating humans
