  • valor at its best

  • Explains why the king and his twin and d'Artagnan had the same hairstyles. :)

  • this part always brings me to tears... "Magnificent Valor" Classic Three Musketeers movie. Excuse the spelling.

  • the 6 dislikes don't know what respect is

  • 2:32 to 3:05

the best and only good part of the whole film

  • I wish htey had made a second one :)

  • Magnificent valor.

  • THEY MISSED ON PURPOSE ASSHOLES!! shut up and just enjoy the movie

  • I love this scene in the movie, the score is awesome and the dialogue so cheesy it's great. Also what a cast for the main musketeers, Irons, Byrne, Depardieu and Malkovich, alongside DiCaprio. one of the best 90s films ever.

  • Magnificent valour indeed

  • Seriously, how can they miss? -.-

  • @AeroSam05 They closed their eyes, and prob wanted to miss.

  • @AeroSam05 A musket isn't exactly a very accurate weapon.

  • 0:27-0:32 The looks of realization on all their faces as they now understand WHY D'Artagnan has been so blindly loyal to the wicked king.

  • they purposely missed. he says maleficent valor. id respect their courage too

  • How can they miss? Seriously now, how the HELL can they all miss?

  • @BustyJuggs they closed their eyes scared of the ledgends and they missed in respect of their courage

  • this film is where you realise how good Leonardo DiCaprio is he rocks in a role that in if the film was made today would be played by a lesser actor maybe an actor who made his name as a sparkley vampire - don't say his name, but Leonardo rules so glad i was a teenager in the titanic years good acting and hot.

  • I love the music in this movie its gorgeous :) and so is leonardo de caprio haha

  • The veteran actors playing the musketeers are the highlight of this movie. Some of Jeremy Irons' lines are priceless. As for the rest, well, they should have shot the casting director. The heroine looked like a drag queen and the doomed young hero would be believable as a Bakersfield burger flipper in a road movie.

  • @deriter64 lol this comment is priceless

  • @deriter64 lol this comment is priceless

  • I never cared for this movie on the whole but this scene of the charge always gave me goosebumps thinking of charging into almost certain death and with the honor the soldiers had couldnt aim and look they just fired and then couldnt fight honoring the brave too much

  • 4:43 Big Epic Fail!

  • "Magnificent Valor"...shit...if that was me, I'da been like, "look at these dumb mufuckaz." Then I would've started placing bets on who would get shot first. I wasn't that impressed with this movie, but it was still ok. Too much dialogue, not enough action--same thing as Gangs of New York. I'm all for a good story, but can I get some action please...

  • and those musketeers must be the worst shots in the world, to miss all five of them at that range

  • @zz13x

I know, but they did close their eyes.

  • @laylo1717 But still, to the four of them filled up the hallway, so the could only really miss if they intentionally shot high. I did miss the closing their eyes part though.

  • @zz13x

I think they did intentionally miss, D'Artagnan was their captain. So I don't think they wanted to him and his three friends. And in the end, they were completely on their side.

It's a bit improbable, but I like the scene:)

  • iI it just me, or is this very like the ride out me scene from lord of the rings, in helms deep?

  • there are six idiots who missed the like link

  • I think both leos are babe'n in this movie

  • Man, too bad; I mean I would love to see Louis' reaction on the truth, that d'Artagnan is his birht father

  • "Magnificent valor"

  • even if i could give up my king...

i could never give up, my son

  • before leo hooked up wit Scorsese this twas by far his best film!!! yeah i know titanic, romeo but this one for me twas his best!

  • I wish they have killed that little bitch Loius. If I was there, i woulnd't let him locked up.

I would get all of that guns in that place and waste it all in his balls and knees, then i would get the mask and put on him and let him slowly bleed to death. (no i am not a Psicho.)

  • @TheArases Yes, you are.

  • @TheArases thats why you are not king

  • @TheArases You spelled "Psycho" wrong.

  • The quality is so bad i can't hear anything!

  • This movie was amazing. Underrated is not the word for it.. who cares about critics..what do they know? PEOPLE are the critics and PEOPLE liked it. It is a beautiful movie, beautiful time in history and serves great purposes and lessons to life.

Leo really knows how to act. I like him a lot! He is up there with the good actors. I wish more movies with storylines as epic as this were made more often...now you got stupid stuff like..animation crap..or saw..or worse..paranormal crap..

  • @TheJedimaster6788

It was because the acting was considered quite poor. Plot was also fairly predictable. I would give it 7/10 because I wasn't really convinced by the acting myself. The romance between the queen and D'Artagnan was also a bit unrealistic

  • All for One, and one for all!

  • All for ONe, One for All.

  • Were those hair extensions in Leo or was it his natural hair? This movie being just a year away from Titanic, I don't think it was enough time to grow hair of that length.

  • All my life...all I ever wanted to be.....was him!

  • i love Dartanyian's bravery,he knew what he was doing

what an ending! and such movie

  • I think this movie was underrated as it came in the aftermath of Titanic and people saw Leo in a different role. On the contrary Leo proved himself more in this movie with the double role which he amazingly did so well. He convinced me that he is a bad and a good king, Thanks God that there are people like you who find this movie magnificent as it is one. I watched this movie like over 10 times and I still like it and especially the Battle scene.

  • Yeap...i agree...for those of us that grew up with the legend of Ntartanian and the 3 musketeers that final charge scene was the BEST scene ever created in a film.

    I can say no more...

...all for one and one for all...

  • Magnificent Valor! *breathless sigh*

  • good movie and the black uniforms kick ass so much more fitting for veteren warriors

  • I want they're musketeer tabards it's so unique from other movies! other than that EPIC scene to the max

  • I loved how Dartanyians men could shoot with there eyes open. his men were very loyal and prideful to know that Dartanyian was there captain. I cant spell his name lol. but he is truely a hero to his men.

  • higher resolution would have been nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When the guys are shooting, they really really don't want to.

    and most epic scean...............EVER!!!!

  • i agree with all of you, and the song is SO epic

  • I love D'artagan I'm his newest fan!!!!

  • this is the saddest part of the movie... but really good, the young musketeers have respect for the older and wiser musketeer, i love they look away as they are firing... I will always love this movie for long i live....

  • @stargateatlantis17

Not sad at all, First a man dies not only for his son but in service for a cause, as the man says Magnificent valor

  • @oldlonesomesong: maybe not for you it is not sad, But for me it is sad... i love D'Artagnan, he is the best and the hottest in the movie..... Gabriel Byrne is a great actor. Love him;) :*

  • @stargateatlantis17 lol im thinking your talkin about the story itself not the actor. If you loved him then you would understand

  • Well...at least they didn't get shot. And D'Artagnan was killed by a knife...that's the weird thing.

Still - love the movie - and the music.

  • Yes, I agree with all of you. This is such a great movie and I satched it sebveral times especially the touching parts.

  • this movie kicks ass. fuck critics- they just dickwads with no real taste in cinema

  • Suprema escena

  • burino

  • I shall love this movie... to my death. :) HAHA. seriously, I still re-watch this movie.^_^

  • such horrible quality

  • @bentenren agreed.

  • Hmm... I need this movie on DVD.

  • I want to know if D'Artagnan roses from the dead to get revenge on Louis for killing him.

  • this is like one of the greatest movies of all time LOL

  • it would of been better if they all died i mean in real life i would do the same thing instead of surrender

  • nope this is V for vendetta: Revenge of the Seth

  • is it v for vendetta 2?

  • I don't know how this was so underrated, it is indeed a very beautiful movie... Thanks for posting.

  • Didnt see that coming? did ya?? lol

  • no i didnt see it coming her boobs was in ma way

  • Can anyone say VASTLY UNDERRATED MOVIE! I mean dear God, the critics weren't exactly nice, which I don't get. This was such a good, no I mean great, movie. The charge and d'Artagnan's sacrifice are two very beautiful scenes. A great movie indeed!

  • @SLPIFan yes, it was a very good movie. underrated? well, it was rather contrary to "20 Years After", the original novel by Alexandre Dumas, which had a portion called "The Man in the Iron Mask". as far as being a "faithful adaptation" to dumas' work, therein lies the failure. but still a good movie in/of itself

Un Pour Tous, Tous Pour Un!

and @HoodCoderMan movies need dialogue to create characters and plots. movies these days tend to get stale with just lots of pretty, flashy action scenes

  • @bookworm1138

I agree, it doesn't follow the book very well. But in my opinion, this movie was 10 times better than the book, especially the ending!

  • @laylo1717 How did the book end? Please tell?

  • @mrsotter19

In the book, only Aramis and Porthos take part in overthrowing the king. They succeed, but Fouquet gives them away, so the original king is returned, and the prisoner goes to an isolated prison. In the meantime, Porthos dies on Belle Isle while he and Aramis fight off hundreds of soldiers from the King's army. Athos dies of a heartbreak when he finds that Raoul killed himself in war. D'Artagnan is submissive to the king, and in the last chapter, dies in a battle (very victoriously)

  • @mrsotter19

(2nd) Aramis is the only one left alive, however, D'Artagnan's last words are: "Athos and Porthos, au revoir until we meet again. Aramis, adieu forever."

Though he was the last, because of his deceitfulness throughout the book, this line makes me think he's probably going to hell. It's a very dark ending.

  • @laylo1717 wow How dark. Thanks for the info.

  • @bookworm1138

Yes, I agree it doesn't go along with the book. But the book had quite a dark ending. It's not a way you want to end a movie, and I like the movie's ending better than the book.

  • d'Artagnan saved Phillips life, that touched my heart. rite now I really want to cry .lol

  • wow, I love this part.

  • One of the most romantic scenes ever depicted on screen.Simply magnificent.

  • Yes. truly a masterpiece, yet overlooked by ASCAP

  • the 3 muskeeters and d'Artagnan are some bad muthersuckas lol

  • God I really do love this scene. Just an amazing moment having them charge like that. I probably would have tried not to hit them as well. Just close your eyes and let the gun drift a bit so your probably going to hit the ground or the walls. There are just some great movie scenes and this is one of them.

  • It's spectacular watching them charge to their deaths like that. That's what I'm talking about! If you're gonna go out, go out fighting!

  • @whatuswattingat "Magnificent Valor..." Oh YEAH~~

  • nice editing ty for th vid

  • I love this movie

  • Great Valor will even falter the strongest of enemies...they couldn shoot those with such bravery

  • Brave Gabriel Byrne!! Forever number one!!

  • @mirisc1309 YEAH!!! He is a wonderful actor, and this is one of his best (Although his role in "The Usual Suspects" will ALWAYS be #1!).

  • @mirisc1309 so true... Gabriel Byrne is sooo gorgeous.... i'm with you on this

  • tremendous scene, i still get goosebumps when they charge.

  • Comment removed

  • What a great movie,

  • they miss them because their close his eyes and they wont that the five guys die !!!!

  • RIGHT!!!

  • they miss them, because they close their eyes and so they haven't got the exct position to shoot them... :)

  • now i understand why d'artagnan placed so much faith in Louis and his betterment... coz he was his own son!

too bad the part where the twins swapped wasn't anywhere in the videos...

  • Yeah, they miss on purpose, VajzeFierakee. You see one soldier actually closing his eyes, to keep from aiming. They can't bear to kill their heroes. And when they realize all their friends missed as well, they know they really are in it together, all for one, and then they can refuse to listen to Louis.

  • All for One, One for All

  • They chose not too.

  • hahahahahaa "magnificent valor" wow i luv this movie

  • does anyone know who the actual MAIN character n this movie is?

  • PHILIPPE!

  • Vive les trois mousquetaires!

    Long live the three musketeers!

  • Magnificent Valour, indeed...

  • what's the name of song???

  • All for one-Nick Glennie Smith

  • son?

de quien es la cancion?? la quierooo

de qui est la chanson... je la veuxx...

  • n00bz they all missed

  • they ment to miss

  • No, they just didn't want to shoot them. But youre right, they are all noobs

  • they respected them so much that they all turned thir heads or closed there eyes they didnt wana see who they shot nut under the kings orders they had to shoot

  • ... how did they all miss??

  • J'adore cette scène ! Elle est trop magnifique comme tout le reste du film d'ailleur !!

  • I watched this movie in french class, and we never saw this part. I love the movie, and Louis should be raped.

  • Lolzygag What is your school?

  • 4:50-5:02 - HEAD BUTT HIM!! HEAD BUTT HIM TO DEATH!!

Cave his skull in 'Ninja Scroll' style!!

  • this movie has such good music. script is kind of weak, but everything else, acting, story, is pretty near perfect. I love it.

  • That charge is one of the best things I have ever seen. What rubbishs days do we live in, days of greed and dishonour.

  • Very well said.

  • that's bullshit. If they charge like that in modern warfare they will all die. Most of them.

And who do you think you are to say "modern armies are cowards who don't charge", have you ever been in war? have you ever killed someone or had the feeling of being in war, and know that you can die any time?

"He who flees will return to fight another day"

  • last time I checked, this wasn't modern warfare.

  • A coward dies a thousand times, the Brave die once

  • "Cowards die many times before their deaths,

The valiant never taste of death but once." -- Shakespeare. It's nice to see that some people today still know a little Shakespeare. Its a very true quote.

  • To fight for a cause greater than yourself.

To die for a cause greater than yourself.

But to be willing to die for that cause...

    Beautiful

  • einfach ganz großes Hollywood-Kino ... und besonders die Musik passt perfekt zum Film und meiner Meinung nach die beste Adaption von Alexandre Dumas´Romanvorlage und überhaupt der beste Film =)

  • in my humble opinion (and having seen hundreds of movies), one of the best scenes ever captured on a film..happy ending would have been great tho:)

  • okay is it me or are those MUSKETeers really bad at aiming their MUSKETS

  • Actually, they're aiming aimlessly. They cannot find the courage and heart to shoot the valiant musketeers. The first shot was becoz Louis tap the shooter and retriggered the rest of the shots which were halfhearted.

  • Yeah, for the most part they wanted to miss. Notice how they close their eyes as they fire.

  • the man in iron mask is with out question one of the best films ever made

it has to be one of my most fav film

Jeremy Irons Leonardo DiCaprio John Malkovich

    all perfect :)

i agree this scene is the best it a legendary scene it is so great ! !

  • Man in the Iron Mask (L'Homme au Masque de Fer) (died Nov. 1703)- a prisoner held the Bastille & the Chateau d'If, during the reign of Louis XIV of France. The identity of this man has been thoroughly discussed. His face which was hidden by a mask of black velvet cloth or an iron mask. Facts are based mainly on correspondence b/w his jailer and his superiors in Paris. There is little evidence to the popular muth that he was the twin brothere of Louis XIV.

  • Chateau d'lf? that was in the count of monte cristo!!!

  • ya it was

  • un pour tous, tous pour un

  • I love Jeremy Irons ö

he's so damn hot and cute ;)

    X

  • this is one of my best movies and its sad ending :( the king never disurve to be killed

  • terrible quaslity god film

  • I love the movie!! X3

but isn't that sad that leo knows that d'artagnan is his father for 2 minutes and than d'artagnan dies!?

  • One For ALL , ALL For One !!

  • The Man In The Iron Mask Is One Of My BESTS MOVIES FOREVER !! This is My Favorits Scenes !!

  • i like titanic and this xD

  • this moments is the best is a legendary scene is great ! ! !

  • Magnificent valour...

    lol what a great guy

  • Great acting by the Byrne.

  • simple amazing

  • Favorite movie of all time ! ! !

  • i love this movie. just downloaded the soundtrack yesterday.

  • this is my favourite part. all for one and one for all

  • I don't care how epic some movie fight scenes are, this is one of the most legendary scenes ever.

  • i know...i always get goosebumps watching it

  • OHHH SHIT!!! damn my heart was all pounding fast and shit until the smoke cleared. Damn nice!!!! loved it.

  • Nice movie. Enjoyed every minute of it!

  • I like itt !!

butt where is the part that the king (philiphe) arrived at the maskd ball??

    xx

  • I really love this movie, love every scene with d'Artagnan. he is hot!!!

I hate the scene where Louis kills d'Artagnan:-*

  • this is my favourite part of the movie !!!

    i love it

  • yeah true, but they didn't know that when they were born. and if they don't take the throne, who will?

  • Surely if he's d'Artagnan's son, that makes him and Louis both bastards, and not eligible to be heir to the throne?
