I can tell that James Earl Jones was really playing around with his voices when he did the gondolier, the cabaret watchman(?), and the stage director. They all sounded pretty different, though you could still recognize Jones' distinctive deep voice.

this is by far the BEST part of the movie!! ^o^ this was me and my cousin's fav movie when we were kids. i would b pinocchio and she would b twinkle. and we would always do this dance with the video exactly like the real pinocchio and twinkle!!!! we would rewind it and do it over and over again!!! good times!!!

This movie scared the hell out of me as a kid. i was five when i saw it. the ''transformation'' scene never left my mind and i always had a lingering memory of the emperor. only his face and voice. couldn't remember if he was a good or bad guy. the memory i had was actually worse then this. this is still terrifying.

Something I didn't realize when I was a kid. This place he's entered, described by the gentleman on the boat makes any wish/dream come true! My point is, his wish and dream was to sing, dance, & romance. He got to dance with Twinkle. :')

@KrystenLucas Watching movies like this as kids, we don't really realize any major points that are meant to be seen. For example: one of the main themes is that we all have freedom of choice and there is good and bad in the world and we can choose to do what we want but we will pay a price for our actions. I never realized the scene where pinocchio was drinking the green liquid that it could Alchohol! I never realized the adults tricking him either!

Yes, they were. They were BORN as real kids and got turned into puppets, whereas Pinocchio was a puppet first, then became a real boy, and is NOW supposed to become a puppet again. See the difference? The other ones weren't puppets first and became real children then ;) So, Pnocchio is THE only one, who was "born" a puppet and became "real" later on ^^

Thanks for posting this...it brings back a lot of memories. I am surprised I wasn't having nightmares when I was a kid but I really liked garish nightmare-ish looking cartoons. Watching it now though - my goodness - what a moron Pinocchio is. He is looking drunk/stoned throughout half of the movie and usually making stupid choices. It's a great consequence warning for kids.

I actually saw this in the theater! I only remember parts during and after the Neon Cabaret because that's when the movie started getting interesting. I was trippin hard when the Prince of Darkne.. er I mean Emperor of the Night got all monstrous.
