mmmm genesee beer so delicious and cheap, people think it tastes like crap because it doesn't make an appearance on TV anymore. I love this country; in order for something to be worth buying you have to see it in an ad on TV first, like bud lite and iphone.

@kissmusiclover It's a local/regional brew. These types aren't meant to be nationwide like Miller or Budweiser. There use to be a lot of them back then. I did notice Genesee getting sold at a gas/food store just a few houses away from me here in Toledo though.

Clearly the man loves his beer, but he knows the Chinese restaurant is not too likely to have pretzels or Beer Nuts on hand (and the only nuts in the place are used for cooking). That's actually plain city tap water from the Rochester, New York municipal water system, where the brewery's located even today just north of downtown. (Hemlock Lake is the source for all the city's drinking water.) Nothing wrong with it, but it's not exactly exotic spring water...

Look up the history of fortune cookies! Like chop suey, they're an American invention, the original idea came from Tokyo. China has never seen a fortune cookie. I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but I think this kinda stuff is very interesting. (I used to work near a fortune cookie bakery in SF - yum - and learned lots about 'em.)

To my eyes, this commercial was trying to be funny but is very offensive. Who knows how future generations will respond to what we think is funny today?

Awesome! Wish they still made 'em this bold. I'm from Rochester where they brewed the stuff and I never remember any of the commercials for the beer. It was always a good, cheap beer growing up but can't find it too easily anymore. Maybe if they brought back this commercial it would spark sales? ha ha
