At 15,000 miles a year, it costs(per month) $233 for gas, about $30 insurance, $50 maintenance? $313 per month? New car? $350 payment, at 30 MPG it costs $116 for gas, $100 for insurance, $25 for maintenance. $591 per month. Thats spending $278 per month to save $117 in gas. Sounds like a government idea!

So you left off a HUGE piece in your simplistic calculation. All told, when you look at the true cost of ownership, they are to the good for about $200/month.

that's fucked up, i got a 98 Dakota V6 Regular Cab and that is the most reliable truck we have here, it's never had a major problem it's at 140,xxx miles and gets over 20 miles per gallon
