  • Thanks for putting these up, much appreciated!

  • am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact thet Dante faints all the times? this is the second time in only 5 cantos ( and it isn't the last one). don't get me wrong, I love the divine comedy, but he's always fainting at the end of the cantos!

  • These are my bedtime stories! d(>w<)b

  • He had a wild vision he may of seen these things and some matt be true but the bible says that hell is a place of punishment not reunion with friends lol

  • I love this cant, the vision of Paolo and Francesca, togheter down in the eternal punishment, crying of love one for other, a heart that kidnappes love, breaking it, making it so respectfull, admirable, yes Dante recluded them in hell, but has made an immortal image of them, keeping theyr love immortal, because we will speak of them forever, Erotism, love, passion and Dante falled down the the ground, to making him less important than love "E corpo cadde come corpo morto cade" 700 Years ago.

  • I like how she says " Master "

  • james earl jones should read this. He has the perfect voice to do so.

  • The judge at the gate is called Minos, Satan is at the 2nd last and lower part of the circles with 3 heads, 1 for Brutus, 1 for His Mate, 1 for Judus

  • medusa and the furies

    is missing in the game

    especially goryon the beast with

a human face with wings and a scorpion's tail

in violence before you gain entrance to

    fraud.

  • I doubt that they would pass up a chance at such an obvious boss for the game as Medusa. Likely you will have to beat her in order to enter Dis.

While on the subject of the game, while some say it doesnt really have anything to do with the poem, just borrows the imagery, i disagree. The poem is to a large degree just a description, and it seems the description is still there in the game, just added the dimension of a more litteral outer and inner journey for dante. 3 weeks and we find out.

  • @DarkTider

    you know what!

I really want an x box so i can play that game.... but i really want EA to start making other epic poems into games-

    paradise lost!

    Ovid!

    it would be bad ass!

  • "Nessun maggior dolore

    Che ricordarsi del tempo felice

    Nella miseria."

There is no greater sorrow than to recall in misery a time when one was happy.

  • okay here it goes... The Devil and "his" angels are really all God's angels since he created them all. However, the devil renounced God and managed to convince a number of angels to side with him, thus they became his followers much like Bush and Obama. Having turned their will away from the goodness of God they became hideous as thier thoughts of treachery.

  • Which ring had Medusa?

  • Circle 6, the City of Dis. Easy way to remember is that the Furies threaten to bring Medusa to torment the poets because they are initially denied entry to the city.

  • The Circle of Heresy huh? I didn't see her in the Dante's Inferno video game video for Heresy.

  • I suppose she's not actually in the circle, but outside the gates. I haven't read up much about the video game, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. It looks interesting, though.

  • i think that was another story?

  • No Medusa is in Dante's Inferno!

  • oh yea wiki that lol

    i think it was treachery.

  • Thats Satan. Medusa is suppose to be near or in the City of Dis.

  • level one wouldn't be so bad if i had some beers and chicks to talk to...

  • @alexander92648 I had a friend at a church that I went to who said to me dead serious, that "if there isnt going to be any beer in heaven, then I don't want to go. I was LMAO.

  • @alexander92648 but then it would not be hell would it? :p

  • the road to hell, may be paved by good intentions, but it is walked, by hard, dry old men in robes.

  • fantastic!!! i studied teh "canto V" by heart but in italian of course.. i study languages at school.. dante in the original language is better, but i love this canto in english!!;)
